The Frontier Phantom (1952 Film)
''The Frontier Phantom'' is a 1952 American Western (genre), Western film produced and directed by Ron Ormond starring Lash LaRue in the final film of Ormond's Western Adventure Productions, Inc. It was the final film of Al St. John. The majority of the film's length is taken up with a reuse of the 1949 film ''Outlaw Country (1949 film), Outlaw Country''. Plot Taking place four days after Lash and Fuzzy's breaking up of a counterfeit gang detailed in the 1949 film ''Outlaw Country (1949 film), Outlaw Country'', Lash is mistaken for his twin brother the Frontier Phantom and arrested. At the jail, Lash relates the events of the smashing of the counterfeit outlaw gang and his meeting the last member of the gang Sam Mantell for a showdown. Ron Ormond
Ron Ormond (born Vittorio Di Naro, August 29, 1910 – May 11, 1981) was an American author, showman, screenwriter, film producer, and film director of Western, musical, and exploitation films. Following his survival of a 1968 plane crash, Ormond began making Christian films. Early life Ron Ormond was born Vittorio Di Naro, anglicised to Vic Narro. He took his surname from his friend, magician and hypnotist Ormond McGill. Ormond married the vaudeville singer and dancer June Carr (1912–2006) six weeks after he met her during a run of 1935 stage performances at the Capitol Theater in Portland, Ore. Calling himself "Rahn Ormond," Ormond performed magic and acted as the show's master of ceremonies. They remained married until his death. They became partners in film production and had two sons. Walter Greene
Walter Greene (January 23, 1910 – December 23, 1983) was a film and television composer who worked on numerous productions for over 30 years. Career Born and raised in Tarkio, Missouri, Greene attended Tarkio College and the Horner Institute for Fine Arts. He toured with and arranged for big bands led by Orville Knapp, Freddy Martin, Horace Heidt, Wayne King, Xavier Cugat, and Harry James. Greene entered the world of film scoring as orchestrating for MGM, with his first films being ''Two-Faced Woman'' (1941) and Abbott and Costello's ''Lost in a Harem'' (1944). He became a composer of music scores for films for the Producers Releasing Corporation studio with his first film being ''Crime, Inc.'' (1945). Other PRC films included Lash LaRue Westerns. Realart Pictures was a motion picture distribution company founded in 1948 by Jack Broder and Joseph Harris. ''Outlaw Country'' is a 1949 American Western film directed by Ray Taylor and starring Lash LaRue and Al "Fuzzy" St. John in a dual role as a U.S. Marshal and his outlaw brother known as the "Frontier Phantom". The film, shot at the Iverson Movie Ranch led to a 1952 sequel '' The Frontier Phantom''. Plot In a small area between the United States and Mexican frontier is a small area that is under the jurisdiction of neither nation. Jim McCord charges outlaws on the run money to stay in his domain called "Robbers Roost". McCord has also kidnapped a United States Treasury engraver and his daughter in order to create counterfeit US dollars. Kenne Duncan (February 17, 1903 – February 5, 1972) was a Canadian-born American B-movie character actor. Hyped professionally as "The Meanest Man in the Movies," the vast majority of his over 250 appearances on camera were Westerns, but he also did occasional forays into horror, crime drama, and science fiction. He also appeared in over a dozen serials. Early years Duncan was born Kenneth Duncan MacLachlan in Ontario, Canada.
