The Friday Show
''The Friday Show'' is an Australian television news and commentary program broadcast weekly on Sky News Australia, hosted by Rita Panahi. The show was a replacement of axed format ''Keneally and Cameron'', and as such debuted without promotion, surprising regular viewers of the former program. The series focuses mainly on political and financial topics, with various Sky News regular contributors and journalists discussing events of the week. The programs airs at 4pm Sydney time on Friday afternoons, in the timeslot '' PM Agenda'' (now ''Speers'') holds on other weekdays. The program was broadcast from the Sky News studios in the Sydney suburb of Macquarie Park and has news updates from a Sky News presenter every half hour throughout the show, however from 2018 is broadcast from Melbourne. Current affairs is a genre of broadcast journalism in which major news stories are discussed at length in a timely manner. Janine Perrett
Janine Perrett is an Australian journalist and commentator who has worked across newspapers, radio and television for four decades. She currently works for ABC TV after working as a television presenter for Sky News Australia, until December 2019. Career Perrett began working for ''The Australian'' newspaper in 1979, was a business reporter at the paper's Melbourne and Sydney bureaus and, in 1984, was appointed London correspondent. Rita Panahi (born 3 March 1976) is an American-born Australian right-wing opinion columnist. She works for ''The Herald and Weekly Times (HWT)'', a subsidiary of News Corp Australia and is the host of ''The Rita Panahi Show'' and ''The Friday Show'' on Sky News Australia and is a contributor to ''Sunrise'' on the Seven Network. ''Keneally and Cameron'' was an Australian television news and commentary program broadcast weekly on Sky News Australia from 2014 to 2015, co-hosted by former NSW Premier Kristina Keneally and former Federal Liberal Minister Ross Cameron. The show was a replacement of axed format ''The Contrarians'', which Keneally and Cameron had co-hosted since mid-2014. The series focused on mainly political topics, with the co-hosts joined by different newsmakers, politicians and commentators throughout the show, and discussed the issues of the week. The program aired at 4pm on Friday afternoons. The program had news updates from a Sky News presenter every half-hour throughout the show. TV Tonight is an Australian-based website which features reviews, news and programming information related to television in Australia as well as OzTAM ratings information. The site was started by television critic David Knox in 2007 after listeners of his radio programs asked him for information they had missed. ''Agenda'' is the name given to a series of Australian television news and commentary programs, broadcast on Sky News Australia throughout the week. The ''Agenda'' series of bulletins serve as the channel's flagship program. The series focuses on mainly political topics, and in each episode the host usually interviews a guest, and is then usually joined by either Sky News contributors or politicians from opposing sides of politics debating the issues of the day. With the exception of ''Sunday Agenda'' and the Thursday episode of ''PM Agenda'', the program is broadcast live from the Sky News studio at Parliament House in Canberra.
