''The Fred Waring Show'' is an American television musical variety show that ran from April 17, 1949 to May 30, 1954 on CBS. The show was hosted by Fred Waring and featured his choral group "The Pennsylvanians". Synopsis Sponsored by General Electric, the series aired every Sunday night at 9 p.m. after ''The Ed Sullivan Show'', excluding the summer months. It was initially 60 minutes in length, but its time slot was cut to 30 minutes beginning in January 1952. During the 1954 season, the show alternated on Sunday nights with ''General Electric Theater''. Focusing on currently popular music and standard tunes, the show included performances by his orchestra and large chorus, as well as dancing and sketches. The show's theme was "Sleep", which was composed by Earl Burtnett and Adam Geibel. Bob Banner was the producer and director. ''General Electric Theater'' was an American anthology series hosted by Ronald Reagan that was broadcast on CBS radio and television. The series was sponsored by General Electric's Department of Public Relations. Radio After an audition show on January 18, 1953, titled ''The Token'', with Dana Andrews, the radio series, a summer replacement for ''The Bing Crosby Program'', debuted on CBS on July 9, 1953, with Ronald Colman in an episode based on ''Random Harvest''. Shawnee on Delaware is an unincorporated community on the Delaware River, part of Smithfield Township in Monroe County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is situated just south of the foothills of the Pocono Mountains, southwest of the Shawnee Mountain Ski Area and approximately west of New York City. The first white settler, Nicholas Depuy, arrived from New Amsterdam in 1727. His home was used as a fort during the French and Indian War (1754–1763).
