Richard Edward Wormser (February 2, 1908 in New York City, New York – July, in Tumacaciori, Arizona) was an American writer of pulp fiction, detective fiction, screenplays, and Westerns, some of it written using the pseudonym of Ed Friend. He is estimated to have written 300 short stories, 200 novelettes, 12 books, many screenplays and stories turned into screenplays, and a cookbook: ''Southwest Cookery or At Home on the Range''. Literary accomplishments After graduating from Princeton University he became a prolific writer of pulp fiction under his own name, the pen name of Conrad Gerson, and wrote seventeen Nick Carter novels for Street & Smith. Horace Murphy
Horace Murphy (June 3, 1880 – January 20, 1975) was an American film actor. He appeared in more than 120 films between 1931 and 1953. Early years Born in Osceola, Arkansas, Murphy was playing cornet by age 11, and six years later led the band for the Newton Family Wagon Show. The next spring, he became the leader of a 45-piece band for the C.W. Parker Carnival Company. After two years in that position, he left to work in Dr. Rucker's Korak Wonder Medicine Show in order to be able to act in addition to leading the band. Radio Murphy played Will Kimble, the storekeeper, in ''Granby's Green Acres'', a radio show which was on CBS in the summer of 1950. John Tyrrell (actor)
John Edward Tyrrell (December 7, 1900September 20, 1949) was an American film actor. He appeared in over 250 films between 1935 and 1947, known for his numerous appearances in the Three Stooges, in a total of 28 shorts with Curly Howard as a third stooge. Career Tyrrell was 16 years old when he became involved in vaudeville, part of the team Tyrrell and Mack. Like many actors in the Stooge comedies, Tyrrell was a salaried contract player. The Columbia stock company was called upon to play incidental roles in practically everything the studio produced: important films, low-budget "B" pictures, short subjects, and serials. Wade Boteler (October 3, 1888 – May 7, 1943) was an American film actor and writer. He appeared in more than 430 films between 1919 and 1943. Biography He was born in Santa Ana, California, and died in Hollywood, California, from a heart attack. Boteler graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. After he graduated, he stayed there as a director until he joined the Army in World War I. For three years in the mid-1920s, he worked for Douglas MacLean's film company as both actor and writer.
