Carlo Ludovico Bragaglia
Carlo Ludovico Bragaglia (8 July 1894 – 4 January 1998) was an Italian film director whose career spanned from the 1930s to the mid-1960s. He mainly directed adventure pictures and popular comedies, including some starring Totò. His 1942 film ''Non ti pago!'' was shown as part of a retrospective on Italian comedy at the 67th Venice International Film Festival. Biography Bragaglia was born in Frosinone, Latium, and was a veteran of World War I. He was wounded in action, and subsequently received a medal. Upon his discharge, Bragaglia and his brother Arturo began to experiment with photography. He later connected with Anton Giulio, another brother, to found the Casa d'arte Bragaglio. The establishment quickly became a popular attraction for Rome artists. Bragaglio then founded an independent theater and launched his theatrical career. Lisa Gastoni (born 28 July 1935) is an Italian film actress. Gastoni was named "Best Italian Actress of the Year, 1966" as she received both the Nastro D'Argento Award and the Golden Globe Award from Italy's Foreign Press Association.} Biography Daughter of an Italian father and an Irish mother, Gastoni and her family moved to England in 1948. She turned from her initial ambition of being an architect to modelling and acting. Anna Campori (22 September 1917 – 19 January 2018) was an Italian actress. From 1951 onwards, she appeared in 70 films. Life and career Born in Rome, Italy, after the debut on stage in a small company of prose Campori moved shortly after into avanspettacolo and revue, entering the company of the De Vico Brothers with whom she toured across Italy during the Second World War. John Francis Lane
John Francis Lane (1 December 1928 – 15 January 2018) was an English journalist, critic and actor. He was known for being a small-part actor in many Italian films, and as a contributor to ''The Guardian'' writing obituaries for Italian cultural figures. Biography Lane was born in Tankerton, a suburb of Whitstable in Kent, to a middle-class family in 1928. He became a boarder at the Royal Grammar School in Worcester, and towards the end of the Second World War attended Dulwich College in London. He then had a spell as a stage manager in London's West End. Lane first visited Italy in 1949, following a German boyfriend from Paris, where he was then studying at the Sorbonne. After learning Italian at the University of Florence, he had settled in Rome by 1951, finding Italy more tolerant of his homosexuality than the Britain of the time. Nino Terzo
Nino Terzo (22 May 1923 – 8 May 2005) was an Italian actor. Life and career Born in Palermo as Antonino Terzo, he worked intensively in the avanspettacolo and revue theater, entering the stage companies of Totò, Peppino De Filippo, Franco and Ciccio, Domenico Modugno, among others. Terzo was also active as a singer, appearing in several operettas. Terzo made his film debut in 1962, and he soon established himself as one of the most active character actors in the Italian comedy cinema, usually playing, with small variations, the character that made him famous in avanspettacolo, i.e. a man with extremely slow reflexes and a huge speech impediment, which does not allow him to speak before he loudly inhaled and exhaled. Andrea Aureli (5 March 1923 – 5 November 2007) was an Italian actor. Life and career Born in Terni, Aureli graduated from the Liceo classico in his hometown, then he enrolled the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome, graduating in 1947. Since the early 1950s he began an intense career as a character actor, being often cast in roles of villains and antagonists. In genre films, he was sometimes credited with the stage name Andrew Ray. Louis XIII (; sometimes called the Just; 27 September 1601 – 14 May 1643) was King of France from 1610 until his death in 1643 and King of Navarre (as Louis II) from 1610 to 1620, when the crown of Navarre was merged with the French crown.
