''The First Time I Turned Twenty'' (original title: ''La Première fois que j'ai eu 20 ans'') is a 2004 French comedy film directed and written by Lorraine Lévy. Plot The action takes place in the early 1960s in the Paris suburbs. Hannah Goldman (Marilou Berry), sixteen and Jewish, has two very pretty sisters and parents who love her. But she is not happy, feeling herself ugly due to being overweight, and she deeply nourishes a terrible complex at the beauty of her sisters and that of her school friend. Lorraine Lévy
Lorraine Lévy (born 29 January 1964) is a French screenwriter, film and stage director, and playwright. She is the sister of writer Marc Levy. Life and career After studying literature and law, Lévy became a screenwriter for Jean-Loup Dabadie and René Cleitman while also working as an editor for a publishing house that specializes in art. In 1985, she founded the stage company Compagnie de l'Entracte which staged her first play ''Finie la comédie'' (1987). Mostly a screenwriter, she has written screenplays for many telefilms and several episodes of the series ''Joséphine, ange gardien''. Marilou Berry (born 1 February 1983) is a French actress, film director and screenwriter. Personal life Marilou Berry was born on 1 February 1983, the daughter of filmmaker Josiane Balasko (née Balašković) and sculptor Philippe Berry (né Benguigui), and the niece of actor Richard Berry. Pierre Arditi (born 1 December 1944) is a French actor. He is the brother of French actress Catherine Arditi. Life and career Born in Paris, his father was the painter Georges Arditi, from Marseille of Jewish descent, and his mother Yvonne Leblicq was Belgian from Brussels.
