Eyes
Eyes are organs of the visual system. They provide living organisms with vision, the ability to receive and process visual detail, as well as enabling several photo response functions that are independent of vision. Eyes detect light and convert it into electro-chemical impulses in neurons (neurones). In higher organisms, the eye is a complex optical system which collects light from the surrounding environment, regulates its intensity through a diaphragm, focuses it through an adjustable assembly of lenses to form an image, converts this image into a set of electrical signals, and transmits these signals to the brain through complex neural pathways that connect the eye via the optic nerve to the visual cortex and other areas of the brain. Eyes with resolving power have come in ten fundamentally different forms, and 96% of animal species possess a complex optical system. Don Paterson
Donald Paterson (born 1963) is a Scottish poet, writer and musician. Background Don Paterson was born in Dundee, Scotland, in 1963. He won an Eric Gregory Award in 1990 and his poem "A Private Bottling" won the Arvon Foundation International Poetry Competition in 1993. He was included on the list of 20 poets chosen for the Poetry Society's 1994 "New Generation Poets" promotion. In 2002 he was awarded a Scottish Arts Council Creative Scotland Award. His first collection of poetry, ''Nil Nil'' (1993), won the Forward Poetry Prize for Best First Collection. ''God's Gift to Women'' (1997) won the T. S. ''Eyes'' is a maze shooter arcade game created by Miami-based developer Digitrex Techstar and published in 1982 by Rock-Ola. It was licensed for the European market by Zaccaria with different cabinet art. Gameplay The player controls an eyeball in a maze. As in ''Pac-Man'' the goal is to collect all of the dots to advance to next level, but in ''Eyes'' the player shoots the dots rather than eating them. Computer-controlled eyes chase and shoot at the player. Shooting a computer eye gives points and removes it from the level, but it will reappear a short time later. Being shot by a computer eye is fatal. As the game progresses, more computer eyes are added to levels and they take less time to shoot at the player. They also move faster. There are eight different mazes. Eyes Galaxies
The Eyes Galaxies (NGC 4435-NGC 4438, also known as Arp 120) are a pair of galaxies about 52 million light-years away in the constellation Virgo. The pair are members of the string of galaxies known as Markarian's Chain. NGC 4435 NGC 4435 is a barred lenticular galaxy currently interacting with NGC 4438. Studies of the galaxy by the Spitzer Space Telescope revealed a relatively young (190 million years) stellar population within the galaxy's nucleus, which may have originated through the interaction with NGC 4438 compressing gas and dust in that region, triggering a starburst. It also appears to have a long tidal tail possibly caused by the interaction; however, other studies suggest the apparent tail is actually foreground galactic cirrus within the Milky Way unrelated to NGC 4435. Eyes are the round holes that are a characteristic feature of Swiss-type cheese (e.g. Emmentaler cheese) and some Dutch-type cheeses. The eyes are bubbles of carbon dioxide gas. The gas is produced by various species of bacteria in the cheese. ''Night Gallery'' is a 1969 American made-for-television anthology supernatural horror film starring Joan Crawford, Roddy McDowall and Richard Kiley. Directed by Boris Sagal, Steven Spielberg and Barry Shear, the film consists of three supernatural tales that served as the pilot for the anthology television series of the same name, written and hosted by Rod Serling. Serling garnered the Edgar Allen Poe Award for Best TV Episode for this effort. The film originally premiered on NBC on November 8, 1969. Serling appeared in an art gallery setting as the curator and introduced a trilogy of supernatural tales by unveiling paintings (by artist Jaroslav "Jerry" Gebr) that depicted the stories. "The Eyes" is the second episode of the second season of the American animated television series ''Adventure Time''. ''Babylon 5'' is an American science fiction television series created, produced and largely written by J. Michael Straczynski. The show centers on the Babylon 5 space station: a focal point for politics, diplomacy, and conflict during the years 2257–2262. With its prominent use of planned story arcs, the series was often described as a "novel for television". The pilot film premiered on February 22, 1993. The regular series aired from January 26, 1994, and ran for five full seasons. The Eyes (band)
The Eyes were a British psychedelic rock band, formed in 1964 and disbanded in 1967. During 1965 and 1966, they released a number of singles such as "When the Night Falls", "The Immediate Pleasure", "You're Too Much" and "I'm Rowed Out". The Eyes were Barry Allchin (bass), Brian Corcoran (drums), Phil Heatley (guitar), Chris Lovegrove (lead guitar) and Terry Nolder (vocals). The band evolved out of an outfit called The Renegades, an instrumental combo, who, when they added a vocalist, became known as Gerry Hart and The Hartbeats. The name change to The Eyes came during 1964. The Eyes made one of the most collectable EPs of the sixties era. ''The Arrival of the Eyes'' was released in 1966, and contained both sides of their first two singles, "When The Night Falls" / "I'm Rowed Out" and "The Immediate Pleasure" / "My Degeneration". ''Eyes'' is an American crime drama television series starring Tim Daly as Harlan Judd that aired on ABC from March 30 to April 27, 2005. In May 2005, having rescheduled the sixth episode twice, ABC announced that they would not be airing the remaining episodes until June at the earliest. They later announced that it would not be picked up for a second season and that the remaining episodes would remain unaired. New Zealand television station TV2 picked up this show and aired the complete series, all twelve episodes, in the second half of 2005. These episodes appeared online via BitTorrent soon after. The show was also partially aired on Singapore television station Mediacorp Channel 5, with the pilot episode and episodes #106 to #112 being skipped.
