The Exies
The Exies were an American rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1997. Their name, "The Exies", is short for "The Existentialists". Their two Virgin Records releases, ''Inertia'' (2003) and ''Head for the Door'' (2004), have sold over 400,000 copies combined. History The Exies formed in 1997 when singer and guitarist Scott Stevens drafted bassist Freddy Herrera and drummer Thom Sullivan to form a new group. Stevens' friend Chris Skane played guitar in an early incarnation of The Exies, but left citing other priorities. Skane was then replaced by guitarist David Walsh. Stevens picked the name "The Exies" from a John Lennon biography, stating on Rockline (11/9/2002) that it was the only Beatles-related name left that was not taken. ''Inertia'' is the second studio album by American rock band The Exies, released on January 7, 2003. The video to the first single "My Goddess" was directed by hip hop video director Diane Martel. The concept of the video revolved around the band playing in front of oncoming traffic- some of which were doing speeds as high as 70 miles an hour. "My Goddess" was filmed on Highway 2 in Los Angeles County in the fall of 2002. It is their most successful album, reaching #115 on the ''Billboard'' 200. ''Inertia'' and their next studio album ''Head for the Door'' have sold over a combined 400,000 units. ''Gary & Mike'' is an American adult animated buddy comedy sitcom that aired on UPN in 2001 and Comedy Central in 2003. It was Big Ticket Television’s first animated show. The show was produced in stop motion clay animation and lasted only one season. A total of thirteen episodes were produced. The series was initially proposed to Fox, but was eventually passed over to UPN. UPN had aired the episodes out of order, leading to inconsistencies within the plot serialization (save for the production placement of the third and fourth episodes). Scott Stevens is an American-born songwriter, producer, singer and instrumentalist. In April 2015, he signed an exclusive publishing deal with Lava Music Publishing, a venture with Kobalt Publishing. He co-wrote eight songs on the 2015 Halestorm album, ''Into the Wild Life'', which debuted at number 5 on the Billboard 200. Stevens also co-wrote, produced and mixed three songs for the 2015 Shinedown album ''Threat to Survival''. The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family.
