The Eternaut
''The Eternaut'' ( es, El Eternauta) is a science fiction Argentine comic created by Héctor Germán Oesterheld with artwork by Francisco Solano López (comics), Francisco Solano López. It was first published in ''Hora Cero, Hora Cero Semanal'' between 1957 and 1959. Since its original release it has been hailed as a universal masterpiece of its genre, especially in South America. Oesterheld returned to ''El Eternauta'' with a remake published in 1969 (illustrated by Alberto Breccia and left unfinished), and a sequel, ''El Eternauta II'', published in 1976 (working again with Solano López). Both works featured a more overtly political subtext and story, as Oesterheld was increasingly concerned and disturbed by the political conditions of his country and region. Editorial Frontera
Editorial Frontera was an Argentine publisher of comic books, which lasted from 1956 to 1961. It was established by the author Héctor Germán Oesterheld. History Héctor Germán Oesterheld created two popular characters for the '' Misterix'' magazine, of the Abril publisher: Bull Rocket and Sergeant Kirk. He wrote novelizations of both comic books, and published them on his own, in a joint business with his brother Jorge. The success prompted him to start his own publishing house. He negotiated the characters with Cesare Civita, owner of Abril. It was arranged that Bull Rocket would stay in Misterix, written by new authors, and Oesterheld would take Kirk to his new publishing house, alongside the artist Hugo Pratt. Eternity
Eternity, in common parlance, means infinite time that never ends or the quality, condition, or fact of being everlasting or eternal. Classical philosophy, however, defines eternity as what is timeless or exists outside time, whereas sempiternity corresponds to infinite duration. Time travel is the concept of movement between certain points in time, analogous to movement between different points in space by an object or a person, typically with the use of a hypothetical device known as a time machine. Alien Invasion
The alien invasion or space invasion is a common feature in science fiction stories and film, in which extraterrestrial lifeforms invade the Earth either to exterminate and supplant human life, enslave it under an intense state, harvest people for food, steal the planet's resources, or destroy the planet altogether. The invasion scenario has been used as an allegory for a protest against military hegemony and the societal ills of the time. H. G. Wells' novel ''The War of the Worlds'' extended the invasion literature that was already common when science fiction was first emerging as a genre. Ricardo Barreiro
Ricardo Barreiro (October 2, 1949 – April 12, 1999) was an Argentine comic book writer. Biography Barreiro was born in the barrio of Palermo in Buenos Aires. At a very early age he published articles and short stories on the underground magazine ''Sancho''. His first comic book as writer was ''SlotBar'', with art by Francisco Solano Lopez. This was followed by the noteworthy war series of '' As de Pique'' ("Pik As") and the science-fiction '' The City'', both drawn by Juan Giménez. In the 1970s he moved to Europe, living in Paris and Rome for six years; he became particularly popular in France. Barreiro returned to Argentina, where he died of larynx cancer at age 49. Many of his titles appeared in Spanish, Italian and Dutch. Not much has been translated in English.
