Enrique Carreras
Enrique Carreras (6 January 1925 – 29 August 1995) was a Peruvian-born Argentine film director, screenwriter and film producer, and was one of the most prolific film directors in the history of the Cinema of Argentina. Born in Lima, Peru, Carreras directed nearly 100 films in his 40-year career between 1951 and 1991. His 1964 film ''The Escaped'' was seen at the 14th Berlin International Film Festival. His 1977 film '' Crazy Women'' was entered into the 10th Moscow International Film Festival. He died in Buenos Aires in 1995. Tita Merello
Laura Ana "Tita" Merello (11 October 1904 – 24 December 2002) was an Argentine film actress, tango dancer and singer of the Golden Age of Argentine Cinema (1940–1960). In her 6 decades in Argentine entertainment, at the time of her death, she had filmed over thirty movies, premiered twenty plays, had nine television appearances, completed three radio series and had had countless appearances in print media. She was one of the singers who emerged in the 1920s along with Azucena Maizani, Libertad Lamarque, Ada Falcón, and Rosita Quiroga, who created the female voices of tango. She was primarily remembered for the songs "Se dice de mí" and "La milonga y yo". She began her acting career in theater and may have made silent films. Carlos Rivas (born, Oscar Weber, February 16, 1925 – June 16, 2003) was an American actor, best remembered as Lun Tha in ''The King and I'' (1956), Dirty Bob in ''True Grit'' (1969), and Hernandez in ''Topaz'' (1969). Early life Rivas was born in El Paso, Texas, to a German father and Mexican mother. English was his first language and he was also known as Oscar von Weber and Karl Weber. Career Carlos Rivas was discovered in a bar in Mexico. He began his career in Mexican and Argentinian westerns, though his Argentinian films were actually filmed in Mexico. His American debut was in ''The King and I'' (1956) opposite Rita Moreno. After this career highlight, he was quickly reduced to supporting roles. Sergio Renán (30 January 1933 – 13 June 2015) was an Argentine actor, film director, and screenwriter. Biography Born Samuel Kohan in Buenos Aires in 1933, his parents were Jewish immigrants who had lived in one of the numerous Jewish agricultural colonies in Entre Ríos Province. Renán became an accomplished violinist in his teens and, following a minor film role in Mario Soffici's 1951 drama ''Pasó en mi barrio'' (''It Happened in My Neighborhood''), he joined the theatre as an actor and continued to appear in supporting roles in Argentine cinema. His directorial debut came on the stage in 1970 with his production of Jean Genet's ''The Maids''. Mario Passano (1925 - 23 July 1995) was an Argentine film actor and tango performer. He starred in some 20 films between 1951 and the late 1970s. In 1972 he starred in '' Autocine mon amour''. Guillermo Battaglia (December 7, 1899September 26, 1988) was a prolific Argentine film actor of the classic era of Argentine cinema. Born in Buenos Aires, he began his film career in 1937 in ''Melodías porteñas''. Battaglia starred in over 100 films between then and 1987.
