The Equity Party
The Forum Party of Alberta was a political party in the Province of Alberta, Canada. The party was created on March 2, 1995. It later became the Equity Party, which held its founding convention in May 2000. The Equity Party did not nominate candidates in the 2001 election, and the 2004 election. The Equity Party had five basic goals, social tolerance for all Albertans, fiscal accountability, grass roots accountability, including revenue sharing between riding associations, environmental responsibility and reforming the First Past the Post electoral system. The Equity Party had an unusual way of developing their policy structure. They used an online forum that they called their online think tank to help foster and develop policy, and policy discussion. The party declared itself a new kind of political party, organized around the Internet and electronic communications. The Forum party got its name from the Internet Forum idea. Centrism
Centrism is a political outlook or position involving acceptance or support of a balance of social equality and a degree of social hierarchy while opposing political changes that would result in a significant shift of society strongly to the left or the right. Both centre-left and centre-right politics involve a general association with centrism that is combined with leaning somewhat to their respective sides of the left–right political spectrum. Various political ideologies, such as Christian democracy, Pancasila, and certain forms of liberalism like social liberalism, can be classified as centrist, as can the Third Way, a modern political movement that attempts to reconcile right-wing and left-wing politics by advocating for a synthesis of centre-right economic platforms with centre-left social policies. Edmonton Beverly-Clareview
Edmonton-Beverly-Clareview is a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, Canada. The electoral district covers the neighbourhoods of Beverly, Belmont Park and Clareview Town Centre. It was created in 1996, and was first contested in the 1997 election. It was last contested in the 2019 election, and has been held by Deron Bilous of the NDP since 2012. History The electoral district was created in the 1996 boundary redistribution from the old electoral district of Edmonton-Beverly-Belmont. In the 2010 boundary redistribution the riding boundaries were extended north into Edmonton-Manning from 137 Avenue to 144 Avenue while the south boundaries were extended to take a large portion from Edmonton-Highlands-Norwood.
