''The End Begins'' is a solo EP released by Jim Ward. It is the third and final episode of his acoustic EP trilogy. It was released February 14, 2011 viTembloroso.comthrough digital download. This is the only EP from Ward's acoustic trilogy that was released through digital download only. The song "Lake Travis" is entirely an instrumental track, with no lyrics. "Waves In Spanish" is a narrative. "Decades" is a love song that Ward wrote for his wife. Jim Ward (musician)
James David Ward (born September 19, 1976) is an American musician. A self-taught guitarist and pianist, he is the lead singer and rhythm guitarist for the band Sparta; he is also a co-founder of the post-hardcore band At the Drive-In, which he formed in 1993 when he was 17 years old. At the Drive-In While in At the Drive-In, Ward played guitar and sang backup vocals, as well as playing piano and keyboards on select songs. He performed lead vocals on two tracks, entitled ''"Hourglass"'' and ''"Ursa Minor"'', as well as singing co-lead with lead vocalist Cedric Bixler-Zavala on a number of tracks. Using the money from his college savings, he created the label "Western Breed Records" specifically to release Hell Paso and Alfaro Vive, Carajo!, At the Drive-in's first two releases. After the demise of At the Drive-In, Ward has stated that he is happy with the break-up, that he started the band when he was 17, and felt like he was always 17 while in the band. Acoustic Rock
Acoustic music is music that solely or primarily uses instruments that produce sound through acoustic means, as opposed to electric or electronic means. While all music was once acoustic, the retronym "acoustic music" appeared after the advent of electric instruments, such as the electric guitar, electric violin, electric organ and synthesizer. ''In The Valley, On The Shores'' is a solo EP released by Jim Ward. It is the second time he released a solo EP, and is the second out of the three EP's in his acoustic EP trilogy. It was released May 1, 2009 by Ward's Civil Defense League record label. The EP also features Tegan Quin, from the band Tegan and Sara Tegan and Sara () are a Canadian indie pop duo formed in 1998 in Calgary, Alberta. The band is led by identical twin sisters Tegan Rain Quin and Sara Keirsten Quin (born September 19, 1980). Both musicians are songwriters and multi-instrumenta ..., who sings harmony on the second track "Broken Songs". Only 500 copies of the physical CD were made. The CD's were all hand numbered.
