''The Dragon of Pendragon Castle'' is a 1950 English family film directed and produced by John Baxter. The film features Leslie Bradley, David Hannaford, Lily Lapidus, and Hubert Leslie in the lead roles. Plot Mr. Ferber (Leslie Bradley) is an old man living in Pendragon Castle along with his two grandchildren Bobby(David Hannaford) and Paddy (Graham Moffatt) who find a small dragon to heat their castle. The dragon helps them to find hidden treasure in the castle. John Baxter (director)
John Philip Baxter (31 December 1896 – 21 January 1975) was a British filmmaker active from the 1930s to the late-1950s. During that time, he produced, wrote, or directed several films. He directed Deborah Kerr in her first leading role in ''Love on the Dole (film), Love on the Dole'' (1941), and was the producer-director for the musical-comedy films of Flanagan and Allen during World War II. Early life and career Baxter was born on 31 December 1896 in Kent. He worked as a theatrical agent and theater manager. He became an assistant director in 1932. He formed his own production company with his friend John Barter. He also acted in several films produced by Lance Comfort. Baxter played a major role in the foundation of National Film Finance Corporation in 1948. He also directed and produced ''Judgment Deferred'' (1952) which was the first film of Group 3 Films, Group 3, a British government backed production venture. Graham Moffatt
Graham Victor Harold Moffatt (6 December 1919 – 2 July 1965) was an English comedic character actor. He is best known for a number of films where he appeared with Will Hay and Moore Marriott as 'Albert': a plump cheekily insolent street-savvy youth. Early life Moffatt was born on 6 December 1919 in Hammersmith, West London, the son of Frederick Victor Moffatt (1896–1977) and Daisy Eleonora née Whiteside (1895–1969), both of whom outlived him. He had two sisters, one being Rita Doreen Moffatt (1936–1991). He was born exactly 31 years after Will Hay, with whom Moffatt would perform with in a string of successful cinema films in the 1930s. He wanted to act from an early age. He first worked as a call boy at Shepherd's Bush Studios, and often saw actor Tom Walls going in and out of the sound stages.
