The 2013 Dominion Men's NOCA (Northern Ontario Curling Association) Provincial Curling Championship was held February 6–10 at the Nipigon Curling Club in Nipigon. Nipigon, Ontario
Nipigon () is a township in Thunder Bay District, Northwestern Ontario, Canada, located along the west side of the Nipigon River and south of the small Lake Helen running between Lake Nipigon and Lake Superior. Lake Nipigon is located approximately north of Nipigon. Located at latitude 49.0125° N, Nipigon is the northernmost community on the North shore of Lake Superior. Trevor Bonot
Trevor Nevin Marcel Bonot (born May 27, 1985) is a Canadian curler who lives in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Bonot was born and raised in Stratton, Ontario. Bonot played for Team Canada and won a medal at a World Mixed Curling Championships (2017). Curling career Men's At the 2023 Northern Ontario Men's Provincial Curling Championship, team Bonot finished 3rd in Northern Ontario, beating Olympic Gold Medallist Brad Jacobs in the A-Final. Bonot also competes in the TBaytel Major League of Curling, capturing the title in 2018. 2023-2024, Team Bonot has qualified in two events, the St Paul Cashspiel and Challenge de Curling Desjardins. Mixed Bonot has won 5 Northern Ontario Mixed Championships, all with his sister Jackie McCormick at third. CCA Rankings
The Canadian Team Ranking System (CTRS) is a point system used by Curling Canada to rank men's and women's curling teams across Canada. They are determined through points earned in various curling bonspiels held worldwide throughout the season. CTRS points are the basis of the World Curling Tour's Order of Merit and are also used as criteria in identifying teams that qualify for the Canadian Olympic Curling Trials. Beginning in 2018, the top two CTRS teams that do not otherwise qualify for the Scotties Tournament of Hearts or Tim Hortons Brier will earn the right to compete in a play-in game for a wildcard berth in those tournaments. Al Hackner
Allan A. Hackner (born July 18, 1954), nicknamed "the Iceman", is a retired Canadian Hall of Fame curler from Thunder Bay, Ontario. He was born in Nipigon, Ontario. He is a two-time Brier and World Champion skip. He is of Ojibwa descent and is a member of the Red Rock Indian Band. He is currently a member of USA Curling's High Performance Program Coaching staff. Career Hackner has skipped the Northern Ontario team at nine Briers. He won the Brier in 1982 and again in 1985. In 1982, he defeated Brent Giles of British Columbia to win his first Brier. In 1985, he defeated Pat Ryan of Alberta to win his second Brier. To tie the game with last rock in the 10th end Hackner had to make a near impossible double-take out, coming around a guard to hit two stones some 6 feet apart, which would later go down in curling infamy as the "Al Hackner double".
