The Doctor's Daughter
"The Doctor's Daughter" is the sixth episode of the fourth series of British science fiction television series ''Doctor Who''. It was broadcast on BBC One on 10 May 2008. Set on the planet Messaline, the episode features Georgia Moffett as Jenny, the cloned daughter of the series' protagonist, the alien time traveller the Tenth Doctor (David Tennant). The plot of the episode involves two factions of clones descended from a group of human and alien Hath pioneers, each of whom are seeking to wipe out the other side with a lost artefact called the Source, while the Doctor also comes to accept Jenny as his real daughter. Plot The TARDIS takes the Tenth Doctor, Martha and Donna to the planet Messaline. As they emerge from the TARDIS, they are met by human soldiers who force the Doctor to stick his hand into a progenation machine. Hilma Wolitzer
Hilma Wolitzer (born 1930) is an American novelist. Career Wolitzer's first novel for adults, '' Ending'', was published in 1974. In his review of the novel, lead ''New York Times'' critic Anatole Broyard wrote, “After finishing Wolitzer’s book, I felt as if I had been on the brink of the abyss, pulled back by a last‐minute reprieve. My first impulse was to rush out and live, to grasp at existence as every instant of it was climactic . . . Julie Gardner
Julie Ann Gardner (born 4 June 1969) is a Welsh television producer. Her most prominent work has been serving as executive producer on the 2005 revival of '' Doctor Who'' and its spin-off shows ''Torchwood'' and ''The Sarah Jane Adventures''. She worked on ''Doctor Who'' from 2003 to 2009 before moving to Los Angeles to work at BBC Worldwide. In 2015, Gardner co-founded the production company Bad Wolf, best known for the BBC TV series ''His Dark Materials'', on which Gardner also serves as an executive producer. Early life Gardner was born in Neath and grew up in the Pont Walby area of Glynneath, where her parents ran a local shop. She attended Llangatwg Comprehensive and Neath Port Talbot College, where she was an outstanding student of A Level English, History and Drama. Time War (Doctor Who)
The Time War, more specifically called the Last Great Time War, is a conflict within the fictional Whoniverse, universe of the British science fiction on television, science fiction television series ''Doctor Who''. The war occurs between the events of the Doctor Who (1996 film), 1996 film and the Doctor Who (series 1), 2005 revived series, with the Time Lords fighting the Daleks until the apparent mutual destruction of both races. The war was frequently mentioned when the show returned, but was not directly seen until the show's 50th anniversary special. Over the course of several episodes, the conflict is only implied by short clues and comments, particularly the discussion in the 2007 episode "The Sound of Drums", and part two of the 2010 episode "The End of Time (Doctor Who), The End of Time". Since the first broadcast of the British science-fiction television serial ''Doctor Who'' in 1963, there have been a number of exhibitions of props, costumes and sets relating to the show throughout the United Kingdom. Some have been intended to be permanent, and others seasonal; most have been staged at existing tourist locations. None is currently open to the public. Former permanent exhibitions Longleat (1973–2003) The first permanent exhibition was set up at the stately home of Longleat, Wiltshire in 1973, and ran until 2003. The site has also hosted annual ''Doctor Who'' conventions, usually in August. The twentieth anniversary convention was titled "Twenty Years of a Time Lord" and was held in April 1983.
