Album Information Like many of Wednesday albums it features many references and puns relating to horror. "Blood Sucker" is vampire related. The song "Get Your Grave On" may be a pun on "Get Ur Freak On" by Missy Elliott or the phrase "Get Your Game On". "Too Fast for Blood" is clearly a pun on ''Too Fast for Love'' by Mötley Crüe, a band Wednesday is a big fan of. "Hail Ming" is based around the character Ming the Merciless from ''Flash Gordon''. "Coming Attractions" and "The Dixie Dead" are possibly based on the film ''Two Thousand Maniacs!'' due to the similar plots.. "Carol Anne...They're Here" is based on the character Carol Anne Freeling from the Poltergeist film series. The title also featuring her famous quote "They're Here". Joseph Michael Poole (born August 12, 1976), better known by his stage name Wednesday 13, is an American singer and musician. Apart from his solo career, he was the frontman of the horror punk/ heavy metal band Murderdolls and has also played in several other bands, including Maniac Spider Trash, Frankenstein Drag Queens from Planet 13, Bourbon Crow, and Gunfire 76. Career Psycho Opera and Maniac Spider Trash Poole's musical career began in 1992 when he played guitar in the band Mizery, which later became Psycho Opera, with Abby Normal (guitar), Jeff Washam (drums), Michael Patrick (bass guitar) and Todd Cage (lead vocals). Poole left the band to form Maniac Spider Trash as lead vocalist, with Normal (guitar) and Patrick (bass guitar), joined by Sicko Zero on drums. Poole fronted the band from 1992 to 1996. Roman Surman
Roman Surman is an American musician and the current lead guitarist for Wednesday 13's horror punk solo band. Surman was also a guitarist for Gunfire 76, Bourbon Crow and the second incarnation of Murderdolls, all bands fronted by Wednesday 13. Career history Surman's long-standing partnership with Wednesday 13 began with Surman becoming a guitar-tech for his solo band. He first performed as a touring guitarist in Bourbon Crow, an Outlaw country side project he had put together in 2006. Surman was assistant editor and music composer for a short video release by Wednesday 13 called "Weirdo A-Go-Go" in 2008. In 2009 Wednesday 13 put together another side project, a glam metal band called Gunfire 76, releasing one album "Casualties and Tragedies" in October 2009. ''Two Thousand Maniacs!'' is a 1964 American horror film written and directed by Herschell Gordon Lewis and starring 1963 ''Playboy'' Playmate Connie Mason. It follows a group of Northern tourists who are savagely tortured and murdered during a Confederate celebration of a small Southern community's centennial. The film has been noted by critics as an early example of hicksploitation in grindhouse films, as well as for its sensationalizing of national perceptions between the North and South. Flash Gordon is the protagonist of a space adventure comic strip created and originally drawn by Alex Raymond. First published January 7, 1934, the strip was inspired by, and created to compete with, the already established ''Buck Rogers'' adventure strip. Creation The ''Buck Rogers'' comic strip had been commercially very successful, spawning novelizations and children's toys, and King Features Syndicate decided to create its own science fiction comic strip to compete with it. Ming the Merciless is a fictional character who first appeared in the ''Flash Gordon'' comic strip in 1934. He has since been the main villain of the strip and its related movie serials, television series and film adaptation. Ming is depicted as a ruthless tyrant who rules the planet Mongo. Too Fast For Love
''Too Fast for Love'' is the debut studio album by American heavy metal band Mötley Crüe. The first edition of 900 copies was released on November 10, 1981, on the band's original label Leathür Records. Elektra Records signed the band the following year, at which point the album was remixed and partially re-recorded. This re-release, with a different track listing and slightly different artwork (e.g., red lettering on the cover and a different interior photograph of the band), has become the standard version from which all later reissues derive. The re-recorded album also removed the song "Stick to Your Guns", though it is featured on a bonus track version of the album. The original mix of the album remained unreleased on CD until 2002, when it was included in the '' Music to Crash Your Car To: Vol. 1'' box set compilation. Horror Punk
Horror punk is a music genre that mixes punk rock and 1950s-influenced doo-wop and rockabilly sounds with morbid and violent imagery and lyrics which are often influenced by horror films and science fiction B-movies. The genre was pioneered by the Misfits in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Subsequent bands formed in the Misfits' wake like Mourning Noise, the Undead and Samhain, solidifying horror punk's first wave. In the late 1990s and early 2000s the genre gained attention through the reunion of the Misfits and success of groups like AFI, Son of Sam and the Murderdolls. This popularity continued to the modern day with Blitzkid, Calabrese and Creeper. Characteristics Horror punk is defining by its fusion of punk rock music with the imagery and lyrical topics common in the horror film genre.
