''The Devil on Horseback'' is a 1936 American musical comedy film directed by Crane Wilbur and starring Lili Damita, Fred Keating, and Renee Torres. A separate Spanish-language version was also produced.Waldman & Slide p.48 It was based on a play written by Crane Wilber himself about a Latin American freedom fighter. It was shot using the Cinecolor process. Crane Wilbur (November 17, 1886 – October 18, 1973) was an American writer, actor and director for stage, radio and screen. He was born in Athens, New York. Wilbur is best remembered for playing Harry Marvin in '' The Perils of Pauline''. Francisco Flores Del Campo
Francisco Flores del Campo (February 16, 1907 – December 11, 1993), also known as Pancho Flores, was a Chilean composer, instrumentalist and actor, considered one of the most relevant composers of popular music in the country. He won the folk competition of the Viña del Mar International Song Festival in 1964 with the tune "Qué bonita va", performed by Los Huasos Quincheros. Biography Flores del Campo was born in the rural locality of Antonio Varas, in the outskirts of Santiago. He began his musical apprenticeship in 1923, when he began to study singing with Claudio Massuetto. In 1929 he obtained a scholarship from the Municipality of Viña del Mar to study in the United States, where he lived for eight years.
