The Devil At Your Heels
''The Devil at Your Heels'' is a 1981 documentary that chronicles the attempt of the stuntman and daredevil Ken Carter to jump a rocket-powered car over the Saint Lawrence River, a distance of one mile. The documentary opens with some quick framing of the task, including footage of the ramp and the car to be used for the jump, and then chronicles how Carter became a daredevil, including footage of some early jumps. It then follows the ups and downs he experienced in his five-year journey to jump the river. He has a series of financial and technical obstacles. Technical problems included difficulties with the car (the fuel tank kept blowing up) and the ramp he was planning to jump off (it was bumpy and not structurally sound). Robert Fortier
Robert Fortier (November 5, 1926 – January 1, 2005) was an American film, television and theatre actor. He was known for playing Scotty in the American adventure television series ''The Troubleshooters''. Life and career Fortier was born in West Hollywood, California. He was originally a member of the New York City Ballet for which he took lessons to become a stuntman. Fortier began his career in 1950, where he played an uncredited role in the film '' Let's Dance''. He then appeared in two films from 1951 called ''Texas Carnival'' and ''Show Boat''. His theatre credits includes two Broadway plays for which Fortier appeared in the play '' Pal Joey'', playing Victor. His other credit included the play ''Me and Juliet'', playing Jim. ''The Late Show'' is a popular Australian comedy sketch and satire show, which ran for two seasons on the ABC. It aired weekly on Saturday nights from 18 July 1992 to 30 October 1993. Cast ''The Late Show'' has its roots in the 1980s comedy group, ''The D-Generation''. Consisting mostly of Melbourne University students, ''The D-Generation'' managed to gain a cult following with their radio and TV appearances.
