Darcy Conyers (1919–1973) was a British screenwriter, actor, producer and film director. He is sometimes credited as D'Arcy Conyers. He was the founder and creator of Bistro Vino in South Kensington, London, in 1964 - possibly the first casual dining restaurant in London. Ewen Solon
Peter Ewen Solon (7 September 1917 – 7 July 1985) was a New Zealand-born actor, who worked extensively in both the United Kingdom and Australia. At the outbreak of World War II, Solon became a member of the First Echelon, 2nd NZEF that saw service in the Middle East. Later appointed as a commissioned officer, he married Frances Gwendolyne Hughes, a New Zealander; also serving in Egypt during the War. Ernest Lister (June 15, 1870June 14, 1919) was an American politician who served as the eighth governor of Washington from 1913 to 1919. Biography Born in Halifax, England, Lister immigrated with his family in 1884, to be near his uncle, who was mayor of Tacoma, Washington. Career Lister began working as an iron-molder in his brother's foundry in Tacoma. He operated a foundry and woodworking shop as well as working in real estate and insurance. He owned Lister Construction Company from 1903 to 1912, and President of Lister Manufacturing Company. He married Mary Alma Thornton on February 28, 1893, and they had two children, Florence and John Ernest. He was elected to the Tacoma City Council in 1894 as a Populist. Slater Brothers (also referred to as ''Slater Bros.'') was a British, and later American, motorcycle dealer and importer. They are best known as the UK importers of Laverda motorcycles, and for developing high-performance versions of Laverda models, especially the Jota. History In 1969 Roger Slater started building Vincent Motorcycles using Fritz Egli designed frames and refurbished Vincent v-twin engines. In an attempt to get new engines manufactured, he visit Massimo Laverda at the Laverda factory in 1970. Laverda declined but showed him a new 1000 cc engine that was in development. As a result of this meeting Slater, along with his brother Richard, formed Slater Brothers who in addition to the Vincents would import Laverdas to the UK. Frank Hawkins, Jr. (born July 3, 1959) is an American former football running back who played seven seasons in the National Football League (NFL) with the Oakland / Los Angeles Raiders from 1981 to 1987. He is also a former Las Vegas City Council member. Football career Hawkins' football career began in Las Vegas' Pop Warner system and continued through Western High School, where he was a star running back. After graduation in 1977, he earned a full athletic scholarship to the University of Nevada, Reno, where he played for four seasons and was a three-time All-American (Division I-AA) at running back, and twice the I-AA rushing leader.
