Wilfred Noy (born Wilfred Noy Blumberg, 24 December 1883 – 29 March 1948) was an English film director, actor, screenwriter and producer of the silent era. Noy was the maternal uncle of Leslie Howard.Eforgan, Estel. Leslie Howard: The Lost Actor. London: Vallentine Mitchell, 2010. . He directed more than 80 films between 1910 and 1936. He also appeared in 18 films between 1924 and 1939. In 1925 he went to the United States to make ''The Lost Chord'', a remake of one of his earlier British hits. Armand Kali(s)z (October 23, 1882 or 1883 – February 1, 1941) was an American stage and film actor of the silent film and early sound period of the 1930s. Prior to that, he was an actor in vaudeville and on the legitimate stage. Career Born in Warsaw, Poland, Kaliz was a headliner in vaudeville. He arrived in the United States in September 1907, having sailed from Southampton to New York on the S/S ''St. Louis''. His Broadway debut came in ''The Hoyden'' (1907). His other plays on Broadway included ''The Kiss Burglar'' (1918) and ''Spice of 1922'' (1922). He appeared in films such as ''The Temptress'' (1926) with actresses such as Greta Garbo, making some 82 film appearances between 1917 and 1941. Biography Stedman was born in Denver, Colorado, the only child to Marshall Stedman and silent film beauty Myrtle Stedman. Stedman had a career in films dating back to his boyhood in silent films with his parents. He appeared in more than 80 films between 1917 and 1934. Overweight as a teenager, Stedman resembled Roscoe Arbuckle which allowed him to convincingly play adult roles far beyond his years in real life. He was married to Carol Rohe Stedman. Isadore Bernstein (November 26, 1876 – October 19, 1944) was an American screenwriter. He wrote screenplays for more than 60 films between 1914 and 1938. He was born in New York, New York and died in Hollywood, California from a heart attack. Bernstein was the West Coast studio manager for Carl Laemmle.
