''The Destruction of Small Ideas'' is the third studio album by 65daysofstatic. It was released on April 30, 2007, in the United Kingdom, May 1, 2007 in the United States on Monotreme, and April 23, 2007, in Japan on Zankyo. "Don't Go Down to Sorrow" was the first single from the album, released in the UK on April 9, in the United States on April 17, and in Japan on March 23. A double-gatefold vinyl version of the album was released on 12 November 2007, also through Monotreme Records. On its release the album's production was criticised by some reviewers, but the band have stated in an interview that this was intentional and directly influenced by an article written by Nick Southall for Stylus Magazine. 65daysofstatic (often abbreviated as 65dos, 65days, or simply 65) are a post-rock band from Sheffield, England. Formed in 2001, the band is composed of instrumentalists Paul Wolinski, Joe Shrewsbury, Rob Jones and Simon Wright. The band's music has been described as noisy, electronic, guitar-driven instrumentals, interspersed with live drums and Beat (music)#On-beat and off-beat, off-beat sampling (music), sampled drums akin to those of Intelligent dance music, IDM artists, although they have continued to evolve their sound by incorporating electronic music, drum and bass and Glitch (music), glitch music. ''Stylus Magazine'' was an American online music and film magazine, launched in 2002 and co-founded by Todd L. Burns. It featured long-form music journalism, four daily music reviews, movie reviews, podcasts, an MP3 blog, and a text blog. Additionally, ''Stylus'' had daily features like "The Singles Jukebox", which looked at pop singles from around the globe, and "Soulseeking", a column focused on personal responses in listening. Circle Takes The Square
Circle Takes the Square is an American screamo band from Savannah, Georgia. It is composed of founding members Drew Speziale and Kathleen Stubelek, as well as Caleb Collins. Their debut release was a 6-track self-titled EP released in 2001, followed by a 7" split with Pg. 99 in 2002. In 2004, they released their debut studio album '' As the Roots Undo'' on Robotic Empire, which released the CD, and HyperRealist Records, which released the gatefold LP. The album gained them considerable acclaim and the band toured extensively to promote it during the year. Post-rock
Post-rock is a form of experimental rock characterized by a focus on exploring textures and timbre over traditional rock song structures, chords, or riffs.
