The Desert Demon
''The Desert Demon'' is a 1925 American silent Western film directed by Richard Thorpe and starring Jay Wilsey, Betty Morrissey, and Harry Todd. Plot As described in a film magazine review, Bill Davis, also known as Buffalo Bill, Jr., saves a young Indian woman from an attack by Jim Slade. Lost in the desert, Bill's horse dies of thirst. Nita Randall, whose father runs a nearby mine, arrives just in time to prevent Bill from suffering a similar fate. Slade plots to gain control of the Randall mine. One of the conspirators is shot by Randall, who dies from an injury but believes that he has killed his enemy. Bill takes the blame, but Nita, concerned by the loss of her father, is temporarily influenced against him. Her eyes are opened when Bill beats up Slade. Bill and Nita are united in matrimony. Richard Thorpe
Richard Thorpe (born Rollo Smolt Thorpe; February 24, 1896 – May 1, 1991) was an American film director best known for his long career at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Biography Born Rollo Smolt Thorpe in Hutchinson, Kansas, Richard Thorpe began his entertainment career performing in vaudeville and onstage. In 1921 he began in motion pictures as an actor and directed his first silent film in 1923. He went on to direct more than one hundred and eighty films. He worked frequently at the Poverty Row studio Chesterfield Pictures during the 1930s. The first full-length motion picture he directed for MGM was ''Last of the Pagans'' (1935) starring Ray Mala. At MGM, he teamed up with producer Pandro S. Frank Birney Ellis (February 26, 1897 – February 23, 1969) was an American actor in silent and sound films and serials. He appeared in more than 480 films between 1917 and 1954. He was born in Oklahoma and died in Los Angeles, California. Margarita Martín
A margarita is a cocktail consisting of Tequila, triple sec, and lime juice often served with salt on the rim of the glass. The drink is served shaken with ice (on the rocks), blended with ice (frozen margarita), or without ice (straight up). The drink is generally served in a stepped-diameter variant of a cocktail glass or champagne coupe called a margarita glass. Origin The history of the margarita is one of folklore due to its numerous origin stories. According to cocktail historian David Wondrich, the margarita is related to the brandy daisy (''margarita'' is Spanish for "daisy"), remade with tequila instead of brandy. (Daisies are a family of cocktails that include a base spirit, liqueur, and citrus. A sidecar and gin daisy are other related drinks.)
