''The Delivery Man'' is the 21st studio album by Elvis Costello, released on Lost Highway Records, B0002593-02. It was recorded with the Imposters at Sweet Tea Studio in Oxford, Mississippi. It peaked at No. 40 on the Billboard 200, ''Billboard'' 200. Content The album had its genesis in a conceptual story apparently written for Johnny Cash. Costello himself states: :"''The Delivery Man'' started out as a story about the impact on three woman's lives of a man with a hidden past. The story took the song "Hidden Shame" as its unsung prelude. Parts of the narrative ended up being displaced from the final album by more urgent songs taken from the news headlines. It is performed by the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Michael Tilson Thomas, recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London. Content It is a ballet, ballet score for orchestra commissioned by the Aterballetto Dance Company of Reggio Emilia in 2000. The ballet itself used ''A Midsummer Night's Dream'' by William Shakespeare for its subject material. The premiere performance took place on 31 October 2000, at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna. An initial recording of the work was made by the house orchestra at the Teatro Comunale to accommodate venues that had no orchestra to present the score live. Cait O'Riordan
Caitlín O'Riordan (born 4 January 1965) is a British musician of Irish and Scottish descent. She played bass guitar for the Irish punk/folk band the Pogues from 1983 to 1986. She later played with Elvis Costello (her husband from 1986 to 2002) as well as several other projects. She uses the name Rocky O'Riordan on social media and for her Sirius-XM radio show, ''The Rocky O'Riordan Show''. It was recorded in Nashville with American songwriter and producer T Bone Burnett, and released on 9 June 2009 on the Hear Music label.
