''The Cycle'' ( fa, دایرهٔ مینا, ''Dayereh-ye Mina'', also Romanized as ''Dāyere-ye Minā'') is a 1975 Iranian drama film directed and written by Dariush Mehrjui. It is about a young man who is trying to get money to pay for his ailing father's medical treatments and gets sucked into life on the margins of society, exploiting other poor and marginalized people for their blood. The film stars Saeed Kangarani, Ezzatollah Entezami, Ali Nassirian and Forouzan. After years of being banned, the film was released in Iran on April 12, 1978. It was Iran's submission for Best Foreign Language Film at the 50th Academy Awards, the first year that Iran participated in the award. Plot A young man named Ali living along with his family in the suburbs of Tehran, takes his diseased father, Esmail, to a large hospital, but is unable to pay for Esmail's reception and spends a few days outside until he meets Doctor Sameri. ''The Cycle'', also known as ''The Devil's Ground'', is a 2009 Canadian/Czech horror film. The movie was filmed during a fifteen-day period. Plot summary A young woman named Amy Singer (Leah Gibson) is fleeing a masked, black-clad man wielding a machete (Twan Holliday). A female driver named Carrie Mitchel (Daryl Hannah) is pressured to stay the night at a local motel by Jimmy (also Holliday), but refuses. She drives on and nearly hits Amy, who persuades Carrie to take her to the next town. Amy tells Carrie her story. She and four Boston University students came to the area to look for a Native American burial ground in Bradford, Pennsylvania. The area was due to become a mine and their professor had promised them a pass grade if they found evidence of the burial ground. En route to the town, they stop to get gas and all but Amy end up mocking the gas station's owner Billy (Daniel Probert) for his hillbilly appearance, speech and lack of hands. ''The Cycle: Frontier'' (formerly titled ''The Cycle'') is a 2022 first-person shooter video game developed and published by Yager Development. Yager describes this game as a "competitive quest shooter" and labels it with the cross-genre "PvEvP", a combination of player versus environment and player versus player. The game was released on Windows via early access in August 2019, and was launched in full on June 8, 2022. Gameplay ''The Cycle: Frontier'' is a first-person shooter, with a play style that's been compared to ''Escape from Tarkov''. Set in a future where interstellar travel is possible, the game focuses on a group of humans living on a space station called the ''Prospect Station''.
