The Creeping Flesh
''The Creeping Flesh'' is a 1973 British horror film directed by Freddie Francis, written by Peter Spenceley, and starring Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing, and Lorna Heilbron. Plot Prof. Emmanuel Hildern (Peter Cushing), a Victorian era scientist, is shown meeting a young doctor in what appears to be a laboratory. He excitedly tells the doctor that he needs help because he has discovered a form of evil that is real, a living being, and that he has unwittingly unleashed the evil thousands of years too soon. He then recounts how his discovery was made. In a flashback, Hildern recounts his return in 1894 from an expedition to New Guinea where he discovered an abnormally large humanoid skeleton. Paradoxically, the skeleton is far older than previously recovered specimens, but also much more advanced. Hildern hopes the discovery will earn him the prestigious Richter Prize. Freddie Francis
Frederick William Francis (22 December 1917 – 17 March 2007) was an English cinematographer and film director. He achieved his greatest successes as a cinematographer. He started his career with British films such as Jack Cardiff's ''Sons and Lovers'' (1960), Jack Clayton's drama '' Room at the Top'' (1959) and psychological horror film '' The Innocents'' (1961). He became known for his collaborations with David Lynch with ''The Elephant Man'' (1980), ''Dune'' (1984), and ''The Straight Story'' (1999). He also earned acclaim for his work on ''The French Lieutenant's Woman'' (1981) starring Meryl Streep, and Martin Scorsese's '' Cape Fear'' (1991). Thorpe, Surrey
Thorpe is a village in Surrey, England, between Egham, Virginia Water and Chertsey. It is centred WSW of Charing Cross and its land adjoins the circle of the M25, near the M3 — its ward covers . Its traditional area with natural boundaries covers one square mile less. Thorpe has been a manor since at least 1066 and has had a Christian place of worship since at least the 7th century. Don Sharp
Donald Herman Sharp (19 April 192114 December 2011) was an Australian film director. His best known films were made for Hammer Film Productions, Hammer in the 1960s, and included ''The Kiss of the Vampire'' (1963) and ''Rasputin, the Mad Monk'' (1966). In 1965 he directed ''The Face of Fu Manchu'', based on the character created by Sax Rohmer, and starring Christopher Lee. Sharp also directed the sequel ''The Brides of Fu Manchu'' (1966). In the 1980s he was also responsible for several hugely popular miniseries adapted from the novels of Barbara Taylor Bradford. Sue Bond (born 9 May 1945) is a British actress, cabaret singer and comedian, best remembered for her appearances on ''The Benny Hill Show'' in the early 1970s. She appeared with Benny Hill for three years between 1970 and 1973, making her one of the longest serving female cast members of the pre-Hill's Angels era. Larry Taylor (13 July 1918 – 6 August 2003) was an English actor and stuntman. He spent a dozen years in the army before World War II. After demobilization he got a job in the film industry. He was the father of Rocky Taylor. She performed in films from the early 1940s to the late 1980s, typically playing working class parts such as barmaids, secretaries and landladies.
