The Contributor is an American news reporting website. The website syndicates the work of independent writers, journalists, artists and advocacy leaders. The site was started in 2012 by Tina Dupuy (who had previously been the managing editor of Crooks and Liars), and was originally known as ''Soapblox.net''. ''The Contributor'' works on a similar model as ''The Huffington Post ''HuffPost'' (formerly ''The Huffington Post'' until 2017 and sometimes abbreviated ''HuffPo'') is an American progressive news website, with localized and international editions. English Language
English is a West Germanic language of the Indo-European language family, with its earliest forms spoken by the inhabitants of early medieval England. It is named after the Angles, one of the ancient Germanic peoples that migrated to the island of Great Britain. Tina Dupuy
Tina Dupuy is the former communications director for Congressman Alan Grayson, and has been a nationally syndicated op-ed columnist, freelance investigative journalist and comedian. She freelances for ''Los Angeles Times'', ''The Atlantic'', ''Fast Company'', '' LA Weekly'', '' Newsday'', ''Mother Jones'', and ''Skeptic''. Her weekly op-ed column is nationally syndicated through Daryl Cagle's website ''Cagle Cartoons''. Dupuy's writing has also been published in books including a collection of short stories called ''What Was I Thinking?'' (St. Martin's Press, 2009) and the English textbook ''Exploring Language 13th Edition'' (Longman, 2011). After ''The Tampa Tribune'' used an article of Dupuy's without paying for it in 2009, she created a YouTube video to shame the paper into paying $75 for the piece. ''Crooks and Liars'' is a progressive news blog focusing on political events founded by John Amato. History Crooks and Liars, a self-described liberal political blog, was started by John Amato in September 2004. Amato, known as the "Vlogfather," was a pioneer of video blogging, which he turned to after an injury undermined his saxophone career during a hiatus from a reunion tour with Duran Duran. Amato said he started the site "because he thought that mainstream media wasn't critical enough of the Bush Administration, and he felt motivated to speak out".
