"The Colour of My Love" is a song written by Paul Ryan. Two artists first released it as a single on the same day, 14 March 1969. A version by Jefferson became a top-30 hit in the UK as well as charting in the UK. The other, by Billy J. Kramer, was only released in the UK and failed to chart. Paul Ryan's brother Barry also recorded a version that was released as a single in several countries. Jefferson version Release After leaving beat group the Rockin' Berries in 1968, Geoff Turton began a solo career under the pseudonym Jefferson. His first release, "Montage", failed to chart, but it was the follow-up "The Colour of My Love" that saw him first enter the charts as a solo artist. However, composer Paul Ryan was not impressed with Jefferson's version, saying "quite frankly, I think it's a load of rubbish. The production is terrible. Geoff Turton
Geoffrey Turton (born 11 March 1944, Birmingham, England), who also recorded under the name Jefferson, is a British singer. His musical career began as the falsettist lead singer and rhythm guitarist of The Rockin' Berries in 1961, which had a number of hits in the UK and Europe. The group was best known for its covers, and Turton did much of the searching and decision work as to what was to be sung. It flopped, and Piccadilly head John Schroeder suggested that Turton change his name to Jefferson. "The Hunt" is a song by Barry Ryan, released as a single in September 1969. It peaked at number 34 on the UK Singles Chart. Release and reception "The Hunt" was Ryan's first single for Polydor. His previous few singles " Eloise" and " Love Is Love" had been very successful and like them "The Hunt" was written by Barry's brother Paul. However, Barry was "bitterly disappointed... with the relative failure of "The Hunt" in Britain and could only really put it down to the fact that the number was too complicated", with Paul adding that it "was not an easy number for people to catch on to". Bjørn Tidmand
Bjørn Tidmand (born 24 January 1940 in Copenhagen) is a Danish singer, best known for his participation in the 1964 Eurovision Song Contest. After being a member of the Copenhagen Boys Choir as a child, Tidmand began performing in local nightclubs and signed a recording contract in 1959, having a hit with a Danish-language version of "Only Sixteen". Eloise (Paul Ryan Song)
"Eloise" is a song first released in 1968 on the MGM label. It was sung by Barry Ryan, and written by his twin brother Paul Ryan. Running for over five minutes, it features strong orchestration, melodramatic vocals, and a brief slow interlude. It sold three million copies worldwide, and reached No. 2 in the UK Singles Chart as published by ''Record Retailer'', but hit No. 1 in the ''NME'' and ''Melody Maker'' charts. It topped the chart in 17 countries, including Italy, the Netherlands and Australia. The single was released as "Barry Ryan with the Majority". The Majority were a pop band, who for a period, were the backing band for Ryan and who, after renaming to Majority One, had some success in Europe.
