Duke Worne
Howard "Duke" Worne (December 14, 1888 – October 13, 1933) was an American film director, director and actor of the silent film, silent era. He directed more than 70 films between 1919 and 1931. He also appeared in 27 films between 1914 and 1928. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and died in Los Angeles, California. In 1930, Worne married silent film actress Virginia Brown Faire, to whom he remained married until his death three years later in 1933. Paul Panzer
Paul Wolfgang Panzerbeiter (November 3, 1872 – August 16, 1958), known professionally as Paul Panzer, was a German-American silent film actor. He appeared in more than 330 films between 1905 and 1952. Biography Panzer was born in Würzburg.Bavaria. His education included studying pharmacy at the University of Wurzburg and studying vocal music at the Conservatory of Wurzburg. He was a lieutenant in German's artillery reserves when he left there. Panzer's early work building sets and painting scenes for a New York City film studio developed his interest in the film industry. He also was involved with live theater, working for Augustin Daly both on stage and as stage manager. Panzer was best known for playing Koerner / Raymond Owen in '' The Perils of Pauline''. Henry Roquemore (March 18, 1886 – June 30, 1943) was an American character actor who primarily played bit parts. He appeared in 229 silent and sound films from 1927 until 1943. Many of his roles were uncredited parts in Western movies, but he also appeared in major films including ''Meet John Doe'', ''The Little Foxes'', ''The Magnificent Ambersons'', and the Marx Brothers film ''Yours for the Asking''. He was sometimes credited as Henry Rocquemore. Career Born in Marshall, Texas, Roquemore began his career in entertainment by staging local talent shows, for clubs in his hometown of Marshall, Texas. Jacqueline Gadsdon
Jacqueline Gadsden (August 3, 1900 – August 10, 1986) was an American film actress during the silent era. A native of Southern California, she was born in Lompoc to Gerald F. and Jessie H. (Salter) Gadsden and is probably best known to modern audiences as the wealthy, haughty other woman in the 1927 Clara Bow vehicle '' It''. She married William Harry Dale (1900–1975) about 1924. She portrayed Lon Chaney's character's wife in Tod Browning's '' West of Zanzibar'' in 1928. In a number of films she was billed as Jacqueline Gadsdon and made two films under the name Jane Daly in 1929, her final year in film. She died in the San Diego County city of San Marcos a week after her 86th birthday. Edwin Baird (; 1886 – September 27, 1954) was the first editor of ''Weird Tales'', the pioneering pulp magazine that specialized in horror fiction, as well as ''Detective Tales'', later re-titled ''Real Detective Tales''. Career Baird, hired by ''Weird Tales'' publisher J. C. Henneberger, put out the magazine's premiere issue, dated March 1923. Over the course of the next year, Baird published some of the magazine's most famous writers, including H. P. Lovecraft, Clark Ashton Smith, and Seabury Quinn.
