The Childhood Of A Leader (film)
''The Childhood of a Leader'' is a 2015 historical film, historical drama films, drama film, co-written, co-produced and directed by Brady Corbet, and is Corbet's feature film directorial debut. It is loosely based on Jean-Paul Sartre's short story ''The Childhood of a Leader (Sartre), The Childhood of a Leader'', published in 1939 in a collection entitled ''The Wall (Sartre short story collection), The Wall''. Corbet co-wrote the screenplay with his wife Mona Fastvold, and filmed both an English- and a French-language version. The film chronicles the childhood of a fascist leader in the period immediately following World War I. Production began in early 2015, in Budapest, (Hungary). The film had its world premiere in-competition (Horizon section) at the 72nd Venice International Film Festival on 5 September 2015 and won two awards at the festival, Best Debut film and Best Director. Brady Corbet
Brady James Monson Corbet (; born August 17, 1988) is an American actor and filmmaker. Corbet is known for playing Mason Freeland in the film '' Thirteen'', Brian Lackey in the film ''Mysterious Skin'', Alan Tracy in the 2004 film '' Thunderbirds'', and Peter in the 2007 film '' Funny Games''. He has made guest appearances on many television shows. The Treaty of Versailles (french: Traité de Versailles; german: Versailler Vertrag, ) was the most important of the peace treaties of World War I. It ended the state of war between Germany and the Allied Powers. ''Day of Wrath'' ( da, Vredens dag) is a 1943 Danish drama film directed by Carl Theodor Dreyer and starring Lisbeth Movin, Thorkild Roose and Preben Lerdorff Rye. It is an adaptation of the 1909 play ''Anne Pedersdotter'' by Hans Wiers-Jenssen, based on a 16th century Norwegian case. The film tells the story of a young woman who is forced into a marriage with an elderly pastor after her late mother was accused of witchcraft. She falls in love with the pastor's son and also comes under suspicion of witchcraft. The film was produced during the Nazi Occupation of Denmark, and Dreyer left the country for Sweden after its release. ''The Tree of Wooden Clogs'' () is a 1978 Italian film written and directed by Ermanno Olmi. The film concerns Lombard peasant life in a '' cascina'' (farmhouse) of the late 19th century. It has some similarities with the earlier Italian neorealist movement, in that it focuses on the lives of the poor, and the parts were played by real farmers and locals, rather than professional actors.
