The Charming Young Lady (film)
''The Charming Young Lady'' (german: Bezauberndes Fräulein) is a 1953 West German musical comedy film directed by Georg Thomalla and starring Thomalla, Herta Staal and Gisela Fackeldey.Bock & Bergfelder p.546 It is in the operetta film tradition and is based on the 1933 stage work of the same title by Ralph Benatzky. It was shot at the Spandau Studios in Berlin and on location in the city including around Wannsee. The film's sets were designed by the art director Rolf Zehetbauer. Georg Thomalla
Georg Thomalla (14 February 1915 – 25 August 1999) was a German actor. He appeared in about one hundred fifty film and television productions between 1939 and 2000 and was widely known in Germany for his comedic roles. Thomalla was well known in Germany as a voiceover artist, dubbing particularly comedians, such as Peter Sellers as Inspector Clouseau in the ''Pink Panther'' movies, and he was the standard German dubbing voice of Jack Lemmon from 1955 to 1998. Thomalla dubbed Lemmon as the second musician in ''Some Like It Hot'', after having himself played the same role in the German comedy ''Fanfares of Love'' (1951), the direct predecessor to ''Some Like It Hot''. Thomalla met Lemmon at the 1996 Berlin International Film Festival, where he gave a speech in Lemmon's honor. He was awarded the German Federal Cross of Merit in 1985. Petra Unkel (3 March 1925 – 2001), also known as Petra Unkel-Klinder, was a Hungarian-born actress of German film, singer, voice actress, radio spokesperson and cabaret artist, who was active in the industry from 1929 until 1958. Life and career Unkel was born in Budapest, in what was then the Kingdom of Hungary, as the daughter of opera tenor Petra Unkel (1880–1942), Unkel started became her career as a child star.
