''The Chainheart Machine'' is the second studio album by the Swedish melodic death metal band Soilwork. It is the first Soilwork release to feature guitarist Ola Frenning and drummer Henry Ranta. There is an instrumental hidden track on "Room No 99" as the song ends at 5:00 followed by silence until the 7:00 minute mark where the hidden track begins. The hidden track transitions perfectly into the opening title track. Soilwork is a Swedish melodic death metal band from Helsingborg. They are signed to Nuclear Blast. Formed in late 1995 by Björn Strid and Peter Wichers, originally under the name ''Inferior Breed'', the band changed their name in late 1996 to Soilwork (meaning "working from the ground up"). History Early years (1995–2000) The band was formed in late 1995, originally under the name Inferior Breed. Peter Wichers
Peter Wichers is a Swedish guitarist, songwriter and record producer best known as one of the founding members of melodic death metal band Soilwork. From 1995 until late 2005, when he announced his departure from the band, and again from 2008 until 2012 he was the lead guitarist and songwriter, especially on their '' Stabbing the Drama'' album. Rejoining 18 September 2008, it was announced that Wichers had rejoined Soilwork in his previous role. Having joined the band again, Wichers accompanied Soilwork on their European tour in late 2008 and the American tour in early 2009. Once the tour was finished, the band wrote and recorded ''The Panic Broadcast'' album. On 25 June 2012 it was announced that Wichers left the band for the second time, due to creative differences. Mattias Bernt Johannes Eklundh (born 6 October 1969), also known as IA, is a Swedish guitarist and vocalist. Björn Strid
Björn Ove Ingemar "Speed" Strid (born 10 September 1978) is a Swedish vocalist who has worked with bands such as Allegaeon, Disarmonia Mundi, Terror 2000, Coldseed, The Night Flight Orchestra, Act of Denial, Gizmachi, and most notably Soilwork. Early life Strid was born in Helsingborg. He gained the nickname "Speed" from fellow students as a result of the "extreme music" he was known to enjoy. Career Strid co-founded Soilwork in 1995 under the name Inferior Breed which was later changed to Soilwork once the fledgling band's sound began to take shape. Mercyful Fate
Mercyful Fate is a Danish heavy metal band from Copenhagen, formed in 1981 by vocalist King Diamond and guitarist Hank Shermann.
