Ivan Nikolaevich Perestiani (also Ivane, ka, ივანე პერესტიანი; russian: Иван Николаевич Перестиани; — 14 May 1959) was a Georgian/Soviet film director, screenwriter and actor, and People's Artist of the Georgian SSR (1949). He was of Kefalonian Greek descent. Biography Ivan Perestiani was born in the city of Taganrog into the family of Nikolay Afanasievich Perestiani on . His first actor's experience was onstage of Taganrog Theatre under name of ''Ivan Nevedomov'' in 1886. The first movie roles played by Perestiani were ''Grif starogo bortsa'' a.k.a. ''Griffon of an Old Warrior'' and ''Zhizn za zhizn '' a.k.a. ''A Life for a Life'' in 1916. During Russian Civil War, he wrote scenario for several short films. Shalva Dadiani ( ka, შალვა დადიანი; May 21, 1874 – March 15, 1959) was a Georgian novelist, playwright, and actor. Born in Zestaponi, western Georgia (then Kutais Governorate of Russian Empire), into the family of a writer and translator Prince Nikolaoz Dadiani (1844-1896), a member of the Dadiani noble family, and his wife, Princess Lydia Tsulukidze. He had a sister, Princess Mariam Dadani (1870-1958). He was a writer, playwright, producer and fiction writer. He was also an actor, theatre-goer, publicist, politician and public figure.
