Morna Anne Murray (born June 20, 1945) is a retired Canadian singer. Her albums, consisting primarily of pop, country, and adult contemporary music, have sold over 55 million copies worldwide during her over 40-year career. Murray was the first Canadian female solo singer to reach No. 1 on the U.S. charts and also the first to earn a Gold record for one of her signature songs, "Snowbird" (1970). Murray is also well known for her Grammy Award-winning 1978 number 1 US hit "You Needed Me". The ''Billboard'' Hot 100 is the music industry standard record chart in the United States for songs, published weekly by '' Billboard'' magazine. Chart rankings are based on sales (physical and digital), radio play, and online streaming in the United States. The weekly tracking period for sales was initially Monday to Sunday when Nielsen started tracking sales in 1991, but was changed to Friday to Thursday in July 2015. ''Together'' is the tenth studio album by Anne Murray, released in November 1975. The album reached number 15 on the U.S. country album charts and #142 on the pop albums charts. It was one of Murray's few albums during this time period that did not chart in Canada. Two singles were released from the album: " The Call" (also sometimes referred to as "Long Distance Call"), which reached #19 and #6 on the U.S. country and A/C singles charts respectively, and "Sunday Sunrise", which reached #49 on the country singles charts, and #13 on the A/C singles charts. ''RPM'' ( and later ) was a Canadian music-industry publication that featured song and album charts for Canada. The publication was founded by Walt Grealis in February 1964, supported through its existence by record label owner Stan Klees. ''RPM'' ceased publication in November 2000.
