The Californians (film)
''The Californians'' is a 2005 American independent drama film from Hart Sharp Films starring Noah Wyle. It is a modern-day adaptation of the 1886 Henry James novel ''The Bostonians'', with the location moved from Boston to Marin County, California, and with the political topic driving the plot changed from feminism to environmentalism. ''The Californians'' is the second film adaptation of ''The Bostonians'', after the 1984 film ''The Bostonians''. Plot Gavin Ransom (Noah Wyle) is a successful real estate developer who has made a tidy fortune putting up gated communities filled with expensive suburban homes all over California. Henry James
Henry James ( – ) was an American-British author. Charles Martinet
Charles Martinet (, ; born September 17, 1955) is an American actor and voice actor, known for his portrayal of both Mario and Luigi in the ''Super Mario'' video game series since 1992. He is also the voice of other characters in the series such as Wario, Waluigi, Baby Mario, and Baby Luigi. Early life Martinet is of French descent and speaks fluent French and Spanish. His family moved to Barcelona when he was 12 years old, and later to Paris. He attended the American School of Paris and graduated in 1974. Terry McGovern (actor)
Terence McGovern (born May 11, 1942) is an American actor, television broadcaster, radio personality and acting instructor. He is best known as the original voice of Disney character Launchpad McQuack from ''DuckTales'' and spin-off ''Darkwing Duck''. He was also elected into the Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame as a member of its Class of 2008. Career McGovern was schooled at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh with a double major in journalism and English, and later studied acting with Stella Adler and Milton Katselas. Michael Panes
Michael Panes is an American actor, writer, musician and composer. He attended Brown University and graduated with a music degree. He has appeared in numerous off-Broadway plays and has been noted as a gifted comedian with an uncanny resemblance to Peter Sellers.
