The C-Word (House)
"The C-Word" is the nineteenth episode of the eighth season of ''House'' and the 174th overall. It aired on April 30, 2012 on FOX. Plot When the team takes on the case of Emily, a six-year-old girl who has numerous preexisting health problems, they must work with her mother, Elizabeth, a doctor who specializes in her daughter's condition. The team must also deal with the battles raging between Emily's mother and father who have conflicting views on how to handle her health issues. When searching the family's home for clues to Emily's illness, the team realizes that Elizabeth's determination to cure her daughter could be the very thing that is killing her. Meanwhile, House and Wilson deal with Wilson's stage two cancer at House's apartment. Wilson feels that going forward with the more radical treatments first would be the best way to deal with it instead of dying a slow death, and this puts his life in jeopardy. "Body & Soul" is the eighteenth episode of the eighth season of ''House'' and the 173rd overall. It aired on April 23, 2012 on FOX. Plot The team treats a young Hmong-American boy in respiratory distress who is having dreams of a night hag, which makes House think it could lead to a case of SUNDS. His grandfather ( George Cheung) is convinced he has been possessed by an evil spirit. House, after hiding from Dominika the fact that she has received her green card and is free to leave him, has to confront his feelings for her and the sudden increased intimacy of their relationship. However, it appears that Dominika may have been keeping things from House as well. Park and Chase start having erotic dreams about each other and those spill out into the dynamic among the team members. Wilson reveals that he has cancer, which leaves House stunned. "Post Mortem" is the twentieth episode of the eighth season of ''House'' and the 175th overall. It aired on May 7, 2012 on FOX. Plot The team takes on the case of Dr. Peter Treiber, a pathologist at Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital suddenly begins slicing his own scalp open during an autopsy. Treiber knows too much about the hospital staff to trust any of the physicians, thus adding to the drama. The only person he does respect is House. Wilson has decided not to wait around Princeton-Plainsboro for his test results. He buys a new car and convinces House, by threatening to drug him and take him along anyway, to go on an unannounced road trip with him. Leaving their phones behind, this results in House's "mysterious" disappearance. House decides to take advantage of Wilson's condition to get some sympathy from the people they meet. The eighth and final season of ''House'' was ordered on May 10, 2011. It premiered on October 3, 2011. It was the only season not to feature Lisa Edelstein as Dr. Lisa Cuddy. Olivia Wilde ( Dr. Remy "Thirteen" Hadley) also left the show after the third episode in order to further her film career, although she returned at the end of the series. On January 8, 2012, Kevin Reilly (Fox President of Entertainment) stated that Fox had been "avoiding" a decision on the fate of the series, as it was "hard to imagine the network without ''House''" and that the decision on the future of the series would be a "close call". A thymoma is a tumor originating from the epithelial cells of the thymus that is considered a rare malignancy.
