''The Button-Down Mind Strikes Back'' is a 1960 stand-up comedy album by Bob Newhart. Released soon after Newhart's top-selling debut ''The Button-Down Mind of Bob Newhart'', the sequel album reached #1 on the ''Billboard'' Monophonic Action Albums chart on January 9, 1961. The two albums would occupy the top two positions on the chart for almost 30 weeks. George Robert Newhart (born September 5, 1929) is an American actor and comedian. He is known for his deadpan and slightly stammering delivery style. Newhart came to prominence in 1960 when his album of comedic monologues, ''The Button-Down Mind of Bob Newhart'', became a bestseller and reached number one on the ''Billboard'' pop album chart; it remains the 20th-best-selling comedy album in history. ''The Button-Down Mind of Bob Newhart'' is a 1960 live album by comedian Bob Newhart. Recorded at the Tidelands Club in Houston, Texas by recording engineer Bill Holford, Newhart's debut album reached #1 on the '' Billboard'' Mono Action Albums chart (later the ''Billboard'' 200) on August 1, 1960, and remained at the top for 14 weeks. The album stayed on the chart for two years, selling over 600,000 copies near release and ranking as the 20th best-selling album of all time on the Billboard charts. It won Album of the Year at the 1961 Grammy Awards, where Newhart was named Best New Artist; it was the first comedy album to win Album of the Year and the only time a comedian had won Best New Artist. ''Record Mirror'' was a British weekly music newspaper between 1954 and 1991 for pop fans and record collectors. Launched two years after the ''NME'', it never attained the circulation of its rival.
