The Boys' and Girls' Clubs Association of Hong Kong (BGCA, 香港小童群益會) is a charity organisation established in 1936 in Hong Kong and serves mainly children and youths. Currently, it has over 50,000 members and staff of 1,000 professionals, including 400 registered social workers. Mission With the mission of “Nurture the Young Create the Future” and in response to the changing society and the needs of the target groups, the Association offers support during their growth, equip them with skills and helps building their development assets. The Association also takes part in advocating a child-friendly community, aiming to raise public awareness of child issues and encourage the public to jointly build a better future for our children. Support! International Foundation 國際青年學融有限公司 is a youth-led education non-government organisation in Hong Kong, registered under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Department Ordinance. It provides educational programmes to both secondary and primary students in need, as well as community development events to all youths in Hong Kong. Since 2014, the Foundation has expanded to 9 educational sites across Hong Kong and 3 event series held year-round, each initiated, led and maintained by secondary school students. The organisation has over a hundred student volunteers and an average annual reach of 1000+. Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) is a national organization of local chapters which provide voluntary after-school programs for young people. The organization, which holds a congressional charter under Title 36 of the United States Code, has its headquarters in Atlanta, with regional offices in Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta, New York City and Los Angeles. BGCA is tax-exempt and partially funded by the federal government. History The first Boys' Club was founded in 1860 in Hartford, Connecticut, by three women, Elizabeth Hamersley and sisters Mary and Alice Goodwin. In 1906, 53 independent Boys' Clubs came together in Boston to form a national organization, the Federated Boys' Clubs.
