''The Boogeyman'' is an upcoming American supernatural horror film directed by Rob Savage from a screenplay by Scott Beck, Bryan Woods and Mark Heyman, based on the 1973 short story of the same name by Stephen King. The film stars Madison Hu, Vivien Lyra Blair, Sophie Thatcher, David Dastmalchian, Chris Messina, and Jaynie Verdin. Principal photography began in February 2022 in New Orleans. Scott Beck (born October 22, 1984) and Bryan Woods (born September 14, 1984) are an American filmmaking duo. They co-wrote the Apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic fiction, post-apocalyptic science fiction film, science fiction horror film ''A Quiet Place (film), A Quiet Place'' (2018), and wrote and directed the supernatural thriller ''Nightlight (2015 film), Nightlight'' (2015), the slasher film, slasher film ''Haunt (2019 film), Haunt'' (2019), and the science fiction action thriller ''65 (film), 65'' (2023).
