The Block (season 10)
The tenth season of Australian reality television series '' The Block'', titled ''The Block: Triple Threat'', premiered on Tuesday, 27 January 2015 on Nine Network. Scott Cam (host) and Shelley Craft (Challenge Master) returned from the previous season, as did the three judges: Neale Whitaker, Shaynna Blaze and Darren Palmer. ''The Block'' producer Watercress has lodged an application with Stonnington City Council to extend, reconfigure and renovate a rectangle-shaped, 1970's style, three-level block of flats it bought four months ago for $5.7 million. The Block is located at 27 Darling Street in South Yarra which will be transformed into four north-facing townhouses – some able to enjoy city views from upper levels. The Nine Network (stylised 9Network, commonly known as Channel Nine or simply Nine) is an Australian commercial free-to-air television network. ''The Block'' is an Australian reality television series broadcast on the Nine Network. The series follows four or five couples as they compete against each other to renovate and style houses/apartments and sell them at auction for the highest price. The original series first ran for two consecutive seasons in 2003 and 2004, and was originally hosted by Jamie Durie. The Nine Network revived ''The Block'' after a six-year absence, with a third season commenced airing on 22 September 2010, this time hosted by television personality and builder Scott Cam. Scott Cam
Scott Cam (born 24 November 1962) is an Australian television presenter, a recipient of the Gold Logie appearing on several lifestyle programmes on the Nine Network. He is best known as the host of the hit reality TV renovation show '' The Block''. Career Cam first appeared on Nine's popular lifestyle show ''Backyard Blitz'' in 2000, alongside Jamie Durie, doing building segments until the show's cancellation in 2006. In between, he appeared on the successful ''Renovation Rescue'' (2004–present) before appearing in his own live lifestyle program '' Our Place''. However, this was cancelled after just five episodes in 2005. From 2008 until 2010, he appeared on ''Domestic Blitz''. Shelley Craft (born 21 June 1976) is an Australian television personality. She is most well known for her long-running presenting roles on the Seven Network programs ''Saturday Disney'' from 1996 until 2002, and '' The Great Outdoors'' from 2002 until 2007. From 2008 to present she has been working for the Nine Network on a number of programs, most notably as host of '' Australia's Funniest Home Video Show'', ''Domestic Blitz'', '' The Block,'' ''Reno Rumble'' and ''Your Domain''. Shaynna Blaze
Shaynna Blaze (born April 1965) is an Australian interior designer, television personality, writer and former singer. She is best known for her work as a co-host on ''Selling Houses Australia'' (2008–2020) and a judge on '' The Block'' (2012–present). In 2021 she won Celebrity Apprentice Australia. Early life Born in Melbourne, Australia, Blaze credits her parents, Basil and Annette, as her inspiration. TV Tonight is an Australian-based website which features reviews, news and programming information related to television in Australia as well as OzTAM ratings information. The site was started by television critic David Knox in 2007 after listeners of his radio programs asked him for information they had missed. Knox runs the site, publishing his interviews with Australian media actors, producers, directors and programmers. OzTAM
OzTAM is an Australian audience measurement research firm that collects and markets television ratings data. It is jointly owned by the Seven Network, the Nine Network and Network Ten, and is the official source of television ratings data for all metropolitan television in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth as well as subscription services (such as Foxtel) on a national basis. OzTAM was created in 1999 after the Seven and Ten Networks led a call for a re-tendering of the contract to provide audience ratings. Executives from both networks were concerned that the previous ratings service did not accurately reflect viewing levels for their channels.
