Püttlingen
Püttlingen () is a town in Saarland, Germany, 10 km northwest of Saarbrücken. Geography The town lies in the Köller Valley, approximately 20 km to the northwest of Saarbrücken and 5 km north of Völklingen. Going in a clockwise direction from the north, the neighbouring communities are Heusweiler, Riegelsberg, Saarbrücken and Völklingen in the Regionalverband Saarbrücken and the communities of Bous and Schwalbach in the Landkreis Saarlouis. Beat Music
Beat music, British beat, or Merseybeat is a British popular music genre that developed, particularly in and around Liverpool, in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Psychedelic Pop
Psychedelic pop (or acid pop) is pop music that contains musical characteristics associated with psychedelic music. Developing in the late 1960s, elements included " trippy" features such as fuzz guitars, tape manipulation, backwards recording, sitars, and Beach Boys-style harmonies, wedded to melodic songs with tight song structures. The style lasted into the early 1970s. It has seen revivals in subsequent decades by neo-psychedelic artists. Characteristics According to AllMusic, psychedelic pop was not too "freaky", but also not very "bubblegum" either. It appropriated the effects associated with straight psychedelic music, applying their innovations to concise pop songs. Saga Records was a British independent record label first established in 1958. It pioneered budget-priced light classical music and jazz LPs. Origins The Saga Records label emerged from Saga Films Ltd, a venture established by the British pianist Leonard Cassini (1913–1999) who had studied at the Curtis Institute in Philadelphia and broadcast frequently on the BBC from 1939 to 1974, including an appearance at the Proms in 1957. New Trolls
New Trolls are an Italian progressive rock band, known for their fusion of rock and European classical music, classical music. In a way not too dissimilar from fellow prog-rock band Yes (band), Yes, their history is filled with line-up changes, spin-off projects and personal struggles between band members. History Vocalist and guitarist Vittorio de Scalzi, vocalist and guitarist Nico Di Palo, keyboardist Mauro Chiarugi, bassist Giorgio D'Adamo and drummer Gianni Belleno formed New Trolls in Genoa in the mid-1960s. They chose the name in reference to the fact that one of them had previously been in a band called Trolls. After first gigs in local clubs, New Trolls became popular enough to perform as supporting act for the Rolling Stones on their 1967 Italian tour.
