The Beta Test
''The Beta Test'' is a 2021 dark comedy thriller film written and directed by Jim Cummings and PJ McCabe. It follows a talent agent whose life is turned upside-down after taking part in a secret sex pact; Cummings and McCabe star alongside Virginia Newcomb and Jessie Barr. The film premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival on March 1, 2021 and was released in the United States on November 5, 2021. It received positive reviews from critics. Jim Cummings (filmmaker)
Jim Cummings (born October 31, 1986) is an American filmmaker, actor, and composer. He is known for writing, directing and starring in the 2016 short film ''Thunder Road (2016 film), Thunder Road'', which he extended into a Thunder Road (2018 film), 2018 feature film of the same name. He also wrote, directed and starred ''The Wolf of Snow Hollow'' (2020), and ''The Beta Test'' (2021). Early life and education Cummings is from New Orleans. He graduated from Emerson College in Boston in 2009. Career For his work in ''Thunder Road'' (2018), Cummings won the South by Southwest Grand Jury Award for Best Narrative Feature. Rotten Tomatoes is an American review-aggregation website for film and television. The company was launched in August 1998 by three undergraduate students at the University of California, Berkeley: Senh Duong, Patrick Y. Lee, and Stephen Wang. Although the name "Rotten Tomatoes" connects to the practice of audiences throwing rotten tomatoes in disapproval of a poor stage performance, the original inspiration comes from a scene featuring tomatoes in the Canadian film ''Léolo'' (1992).
