The Best Bad Man
''The Best Bad Man'' is a 1925 American silent Western film directed by John G. Blystone and written by Lillie Hayward. The film stars Tom Mix, Buster Gardner, Cyril Chadwick, Clara Bow, Tom Kennedy, and Frank Beal. The film was released on November 29, 1925, by Fox Film Corporation. Plot As described in a review in a film magazine, Hugh Nichols (Mix) is a wealthy tenderfoot idler who has never taken life seriously until a westerner demands that he complete a dam on his property that was promised by his father and is necessary for a score of ranches. As Hugh has already sent money to complete this project, he determines to investigate for himself, and disguises himself as a peddler of musical instruments. He finds that his agent is a crook, steals his own money back, and resists arrest until he can be identified. In the meantime he has fallen in love with Peggy (Bow), the leader of the ranchers. Tom Wilson (August 27, 1880 – February 19, 1965) was an American film actor. Biography Wilson was born in Helena, Montana, in 1880. Appearing in more than 300 films between 1915 and 1963, Wilson had notable supporting roles in the silent film era, like "The Kindly Officer" in D. W. Griffith's epic ''Intolerance'' (1916), the angry policeman in Charlie Chaplin's ''The Kid'' (1921), and a boxing coach in Buster Keaton's comedy ''Battling Butler'' (1926). After the rise of sound film, he was reduced to small roles for the rest of his long film career. Wilson died in 1965 in Los Angeles, California. Tom Mix Filmography
Tom Mix (1880–1940) was an American motion picture actor, director, and writer whose career spanned from 1910 to 1935. During this time he appeared in 270 films and established himself as the screen's most popular cowboy star. Mix's flair for showmanship set the standard for later cowboy heroes such as Gene Autry and Roy Rogers. His horse Tony also became a celebrity who received his own fan mail. Born in Pennsylvania, Mix served in the United States Army before moving to the Oklahoma Territory in 1902. Three years later, after working as a physical fitness instructor, bartender, and peace officer, he was hired as a full-time cowboy for the Miller Brothers 101 Ranch. Soon after, Mix established himself as the star attraction of the Millers' Wild West Show. In early 1910 Mix agreed to work as an actor and wrangler for the Selig Polyscope Company. Paul Wolfgang Panzerbeiter (November 3, 1872 – August 16, 1958), known professionally as Paul Panzer, was a German-American silent film actor. He appeared in more than 330 films between 1905 and 1952. Biography Panzer was born in Würzburg.Bavaria. His education included studying pharmacy at the University of Wurzburg and studying vocal music at the Conservatory of Wurzburg. He was a lieutenant in German's artillery reserves when he left there.
