The Beautiful City
''The Beautiful City'' ( fa, شهر زیبا /Shahr-e Ziba/) is a 2004 Iranian drama film directed by Asghar Farhadi. Plot Akbar celebrates his 18th birthday in the detention centre. He has been held in a rehabilitation centre for committing murder at the age of sixteen when he was condemned to death. Legally speaking, he had to reach the age of eighteen so that the conviction could be carried out. Now, Akbar is transferred to prison to await the day of his execution. A'la, a friend of Akbar, who himself has undergone imprisonment for burglary, soon after his release tries desperately to gain the consent of Akbar's plaintiff so as to stop the execution. Taraneh Alidoosti ( fa, ترانه عليدوستی; born 12 January 1984) is an Iranian actress. She is best known internationally for her role in '' The Salesman'' (2016), which won the Best Foreign Language Film Award at the 89th Academy Awards. In a poll conducted among 130 film critics by ''Sanate Cinema'' magazine, she was voted the best Iranian movie actress of the decade. Faramarz Gharibian ( fa, فرامرز قریبیان; born 18 November 1941) is an Iranian retired actor. He won three Crystal Simorgh Awards for his performances in ''The Train'' (1988), ''Misty Harbour'' (1992), and ''The Rain Man'' (1998). Career He learned film acting in the School of Visual Arts, US (1971). He started his career with a short role in ''Come Stranger'' (1968, Masoud Kimiai).
