The Beatles Mono Collection
Released in 1982, ''The Beatles Mono Collection'' is a boxed set of all Beatles' albums which were originally issued on mono LPs in the UK (''Please Please Me'' to '' Yellow Submarine''). EMI reportedly pressed a total of 10,000 copies of each reissue mono LP for sale individually. An unknown quantity of unnumbered red boxes (sometimes reported to be between 300 and 500) were issued in the UK, while 1000 numbered black boxed sets were assembled and issued in the United States by the Dutch East India Trading Co. These US sets originally sold for $79.00 and included a numbered certificate and an order blank for additional sets. A new '' Mono Box'', containing remastered monoural versions of the Beatles' core albums (with the exception of Yellow Submarine album) plus ''Mono Masters'' compilation, was released on 9 September 2009 along with '' Stereo Box'' and new stereo reissues of the individual albums, including the first four albums given their stereo debuts on CD. ''The Beatles in Mono'' is a boxed set compilation comprising the remastered monaural recordings by the Beatles. The set was released on compact disc on 9 September 2009, the same day the remastered stereo recordings and companion '' The Beatles (The Original Studio Recordings)'' were also released, along with '' The Beatles: Rock Band'' video game. The remastering project for both mono and stereo versions was led by EMI senior studio engineers Allan Rouse and Guy Massey. The release date of 09/09/09 is related to the significance to John Lennon of the number nine. The boxed set was released on 180-gram heavyweight vinyl on 8 September 2014, mastered directly from the original analogue tapes and not the digital masters used for the CD release. George Harrison
George Harrison (25 February 1943 – 29 November 2001) was an English musician and singer-songwriter who achieved international fame as the lead guitarist of the Beatles. Sometimes called "the quiet Beatle", Harrison embraced Indian culture and helped broaden the scope of popular music through his incorporation of Indian instrumentation and Hindu-aligned spirituality in the Beatles' work. ''Let It Be'' is the twelfth and final studio album by the English rock band the Beatles. It was released on 8 May 1970, almost a month after the group's public break-up, in tandem with the documentary of the same name. Concerned about recent friction within the band, Paul McCartney had conceived the project as an attempt to reinvigorate the group by returning to simpler rock 'n' roll configurations. ''Abbey Road'' is the eleventh studio album by the English rock band the Beatles. It is the last album the group started recording, although ''Let It Be'' was the last album completed before the band's break-up in April 1970. ''Magical Mystery Tour'' is a record by the English rock band the Beatles that was released as a double EP in the United Kingdom and an LP in the United States. It includes the soundtrack to the 1967 television film of the same name. ''Help!'' is the fifth studio album by the English rock band the Beatles and the soundtrack to their film of the same name. It was released on 6 August 1965. Seven of the fourteen songs, including the singles "Help!" and " Ticket to Ride", appeared in the film and take up the first side of the vinyl album.
