Mario Gariazzo (4 June 1930 – 18 March 2002) was an Italian screenwriter and film director. He wrote for 21 films between 1969 and 1992. He also directed 18 films between 1962 and 1992. He was born in Biella, Italy and died in Rome, Italy at age 71. Gariazzo is known to horror film fans for directing ''The Eerie Midnight Horror Show'' in 1974, and ''White Slave'' in 1985. He also directed the 1978 Italian science fiction film ''Eyes Behind The Stars''. He worked with Klaus Kinski, Ivan Rassimov, Richard Harrison, Ray Lovelock, Martin Balsam and other genre stars. Silvano Tranquilli
Silvano Tranquilli (23 August 1925 – 10 May 1997) was an Italian stage, television and film actor. Life and career Born in Rome, Silvano Tranquilli attended theatre lessons at the Sharoff Academy, and started his stage activity with the theatrical companies of Salvo Randone and Vittorio Gassman. In 1959 he made his television debut, and later acted in more than 100 television productions, achieving his main success with the TV-series '' I ragazzi di padre Tobia''. In the early 1960s he also started a prolific film career as character actor. He died in Rome, at 71, shortly after his theatrical comeback with the company Stabile del Giallo. Lina Volonghi (4 September 1914 – 24 February 1991) was an Italian stage, television and film actress. Life and career Born in Genoa as Giuseppina Angela Volonghi, a promising junior swimming champion in her youth, Volonghi started her acting career in 1933, when she debuted in the comedy play ''I manezzi pe' majâ na figgia'', in the Gilberto Govi's stage company. After six years she left the Govi's company and moved to Rome, where she joined the Anton Giulio Bragaglia's company Theatre of the Arts. In these years she gained critical appreciation for her versatility in comic and dramatic roles. Maurizio Arena
Maurizio Arena (26 December 1933 – 21 November 1979) was an Italian film actor. He appeared in more than 70 films between 1952 and 1978. Life and career Born in Rome as Maurizio Di Lorenzo, Arena made his film debut at nineteen years old, with a small role in ''Bellezze in moto-scooter''. His breakout role came in 1956 with the role of Romolo in the successful Dino Risi's romance-comedy film ''Poveri ma belli''. Until the early 1960s Arena was one of the most popular actors in the Italian cinema, and was a regular feature of gossip columns for his tumultuous personal life. In later years his celebrity declined, and Arena found roles as a character actor in smaller films, and occasionally worked as a singer. He became an alternative medicine healer with some local following. He died at age 45 following a heart attack, a complication from a long-standing renal condition. Umberto D'Orsi (30 July 1929 – 31 August 1976) was an Italian character actor and comedian. Born in Trieste, D'Orsi took a degree in law in 1953, but he was already active in theater from 1950, performing in small companies of prose and revue. From 1962 till his death, D'Orsi was a prolific supporting actor, appearing in as many as fifteen films a year. He died in Rome at 47 from kidney failure. Gianni Agus (17 August 1917 – 4 March 1994) was an Italian actor with a career in film, television, and theatre since 1938. He appeared in more than 60 films between 1938 and 1991. Life and career Born in Cagliari, Sardinia, after his diploma in accounting Agus moved to Rome to enrol in the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, from which he graduated in 1938. The same year he made his screen debut in Carmine Gallone's '' The Life of Giuseppe Verdi'' and his stage debut with the Merlini- Cialente company. Marina Malfatti
Marina Malfatti (25 April 1933 – 8 June 2016) was an Italian actress. Biography Born in Florence, Malfatti moved to Paris at the age of 17 where she attended the Cours d'Art Dramatique, the drama school founded by René Simon. Two years later, after returning to Italy, she obtained a scholarship for the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia and started appearing in films and on stage in some small roles. Her theater career was launched by Arnoldo Foà who chose her as his co-star in the play ''Two for the Seesaw'' by William Gibson. Hence Malfatti's stage career alternated comedic and dramatic roles. During the 1970s, Malfatti was an icon of Italian horror films, especially of demonic background. In the 1980s, her career focused on theatre, and in 1986 Alberto Moravia wrote specifically for her the drama ''La cintura''.
