Doro (musician)
Dorothee Pesch (born 3 June 1964), known professionally as Doro Pesch or simply Doro, is a German heavy metal singer and the former frontwoman of heavy metal band Warlock. Dubbed the " Metal Queen", Doro's contributions to music and culture made her a global figure in metal culture for over three decades. The name Doro has also been associated with the touring band accompanying the singer, whose members have continuously changed in more than 20 years of uninterrupted activity, the most stable presences being those of bassist Nick Douglas and drummer Johnny Dee. Doro started her career in garage bands in native Düsseldorf underground scene and achieved media visibility and some commercial success with Warlock in the 1980s. Warlock were starting to have an opening in the US market, when they went through many line-up changes and Pesch was left the only original member of the band. She started a solo career under the name Doro, in order to avoid legal battles between her record ...

Machine II Machine
''Machine II Machine'' is the fifth studio album by the German female hard rock singer Doro Pesch. The album was released in March 1995 and mixed by Kevin Shirley and Greg Smith. It is the most mainstream oriented album of the German singer to date, thanks to the production of Jack Ponti (Bon Jovi, Alice Cooper, Baton Rouge) and the collaboration of musicians and authors coming from pop, country and even Latin music. The lyrics break new ground for Doro, as many of the songs deal with erotic themes. The last track is a remix done by members of the German industrial metal band Die Krupps, who worked with Doro on her next albums. The limited edition of the album contains the bonus track "Tie Me Up (Hard & Fast mix)". The album peaked at position No. 33 in the German Longplay chart. Doro (album)
''Doro'' is the second solo album of the German female hard rock singer Doro Pesch. The album was released on 25 September 1990. Overview Doro's second album is more a solo effort than a band production. In fact, the German singer chose for herself a new musical direction, consciously separating the music creative process from normal band dynamics, the contrary of what she had always done in the past with Warlock. The album production was put in the hands of Kiss bassist Gene Simmons, Doro's childhood idol. Simmons provided five songs, including the covers of The Electric Prunes' 60s psychedelic hit " I Had Too Much to Dream" and of Black 'n Blue's "Rock On", and musicians coming from the Kiss' entourage to complete the recording. The song "Only You" is a Kiss cover from the album ''Music from "The Elder"'' (1981). He gave his protégé Tommy Thayer from the band Black 'n Blue (another band Simmons produced) a chance to shine as co-producer of the album, along with Pat Regan. "I' ...

Angels Never Die
''Angels Never Die'' is the fourth solo album of the German female hard rock singer Doro Pesch. The album was released in February 1993 and was produced by Jack Ponti and Vic Pepe. The two producers had worked with Alice Cooper on the hit single "Hey Stoopid" and had produced minor glam metal bands like Surgin' and Baton Rouge. The sound and musical style of ''Angels Never Die'' is very similar to what can be heard on the second Doro solo album, alternating heavy rock tracks with large choruses and power ballads, in the vein of the declining glam metal that had dominated the American rock charts for the first part of the decade. The album was not published in the US and had limited success in Europe. However, the video for the song "Bad Blood" was voted best anti-racism video during the first MTV Europe Music Awards ceremony in 1994. ''Angels Never Die'' remained on the German Longplay chart for 13 weeks, peaking at position No. 21. Track listing All credits adapted from the or ...

Force Majeure (Doro Album)
''Force Majeure'' is the debut solo studio album by German singer Doro, released in February 1989 by Vertigo Records. Background After the success of Warlock's album ''Triumph and Agony'', which gained Gold status in Germany and reached number 98 on the ''Billboard'' 200 in the United States, Doro remained the only original member of the band. Some legal issues about the use of the name Warlock were raised by the former band manager and Doro settled the dispute, renouncing to issue any new album with the band's name, but using her name instead for any new releases. However, the first print of the LP was issued with a sticker on the cover near Doro's name with "+ Warlock" written on and for some fans ''Force Majeure'' should still be considered as the last album by Warlock. Just like ''Triumph and Agony'', the album was recorded in the US and produced by Joey Balin. Bass player Tommy Henriksen, who was part of the last line-up of Warlock plays in this album, too. The line-up is ...
