The Fourmyula
''The Fourmyula'' were a New Zealand rock group formed in 1967 in Upper Hutt. They achieved considerable local success in the late 1960s, with ten of their fourteen singles reaching the New Zealand Top 20. Career (1967–1971) The group initially consisted of Wayne Mason (guitar, keyboards, vocals), Martin Hope (guitar and vocals), Ali Richardson (bass and vocals), and Chris Parry (producer), Chris Parry (drums), who founded Fiction Records (UK) in 1978. They were joined in 1968 by Carl Evensen as lead vocalist. Their first release, "Come With Me" made it to number 2 in August 1968. They released fourteen singles (ten of which reached the New Zealand Top 20) and five albums and won the New Zealand Entertainers of the Year award in 1970. The Fourmyula's best known song, "Nature (The Fourmyula song), Nature", written by Wayne Mason and produced by Peter Dawkins (musician), Peter Dawkins, reached number one in the New Zealand charts in December 1969. The Simple Image
The Simple Image was a New Zealand rock band that was popular in the 1960s. They achieved four top ten hits including a chart topper with the song, "Spinning, Spinning, Spinning". The original members were Barry Leef on guitar and lead vocals, Ron (Cass) Gascoigne on bass guitar and vocals, Harry Leki on lead guitar and vocals, and Gordon Wylie on drums. There was a lineup change in the late 1960s bringing in Doug Smith on lead vocals and Bruce Walker on keyboards and vocals. The band moved to Australia in July 1969. After a short stint at "Lucifers" nightclub, they took up residency at The Whiskey A Go Go in Kings Cross Sydney. The original drummer left and was replaced by Wayne Allen from Christchurch, NZ. Doug Smith was replaced by original lead Vocalist Barry Leef. After 20 months, the band dissolved. It catalogs more than three million album entries and 30 million tracks, as well as information on musicians and bands. History AllMusic was launched as ''All Music Guide'' by Michael Erlewine, a "compulsive archivist, noted astrologer, Buddhist scholar and musician". "Days of Pearly Spencer" (or in later releases "The Days of Pearly Spencer") is a 1967 song written and originally performed by Northern Ireland, Northern Irish singer-songwriter David McWilliams (musician), David McWilliams, and included on his second album ''David McWilliams Vol. 2''. Although it charted in several countries in continental Europe and in Australia, the original version was not a chart success in either the United Kingdom or Ireland. The song was rerecorded by McWilliams with a new arrangement in his album ''Working for the Government'' (1987). In 1992, a cover version by English pop singer Marc Almond reached number four on the UK Singles Chart and number eight in Ireland.
