''The Analog Anthology #2: Readers' Choice'' is an anthology of science fiction stories and articles drawn from '' Analog'' magazine, edited by then-current ''Analog'' editor Stanley Schmidt. It was first published in paperback by Davis Publications in January 1982, and reprinted later the same year under the alternate title ''Analog: Readers' Choice''. A hardcover edition was issued by The Dial Press under the alternate title in March 1982. The book collects eleven short pieces first published in ''Analog'' and its predecessor title ''Astounding'', together with an introduction by Schmidt. A WikiProject, or Wikiproject, is a Wikimedia movement affinity group for contributors with shared goals. WikiProjects are prevalent within the largest wiki, Wikipedia, and exist to varying degrees within sister projects such as Wiktionary, Wikiquote, Wikidata, and Wikisource. They also exist in different languages, and translation of articles is a form of their collaboration. During the COVID-19 pandemic, CBS News noted the role of Wikipedia's WikiProject Medicine in maintaining the accuracy of articles related to the disease. Another WikiProject that has drawn attention is WikiProject Women Scientists, which was profiled by '' Smithsonian'' for its efforts to improve coverage of women scientists which the profile noted had "helped increase the number of female scientists on Wikipedia from around 1,600 to over 5,000". The Cold Equations
"The Cold Equations" is a science fiction short story by American writer Tom Godwin, first published in ''Astounding Magazine'' in August 1954. In 1970, the Science Fiction Writers of America selected it as one of the best science-fiction short stories published before 1965, and it was therefore included in ''The Science Fiction Hall of Fame, Volume One, 1929–1964''. The story has been widely anthologized and dramatized. Summary The story takes place entirely aboard an Emergency Dispatch Ship () headed for the frontier planet Woden with a load of desperately-needed medical supplies.
