''The Amazing Race 23'' is the twenty-third season of the American reality television show ''The Amazing Race''. It featured eleven teams of two competing in a race around the world. The season premiered on CBS on September 29, 2013, and the two-hour season finale aired on December 8, 2013. Dating couple Jason Case and Amy Diaz were the winners of this season, while exes Tim Sweeney and finished in second place, and married doctors Travis and Nicole Jasper finished in third. Production Development and filming The season was renewed on March 27, 2013. A revised opening credits sequence and on-screen clue graphics were developed for this season along with an updated map using 3D blue marble layout. Philip John Keoghan ( ; born 31 May 1967) is a New Zealand television personality, best known for hosting the American version of ''The Amazing Race'' on CBS, since its 2001 debut. He is the creator and host of ''No Opportunity Wasted'', which has been produced in the United States, New Zealand, and Canada. He also co-created and hosts the American reality competition television program ''Tough as Nails'' which debuted on CBS on 8 July 2020. As of 2021, he has been involved with winning ten Primetime Emmy Awards related to his work on ''The Amazing Race'', where the show consecutively won the Outstanding Reality-Competition Program seven times. Christopher Ryan Getz (born August 30, 1983) is an American former professional baseball second baseman who played in Major League Baseball for the Chicago White Sox, Kansas City Royals and Toronto Blue Jays. The Miss Rhode Island USA competition is the beauty pageant that selects the representative for the state Rhode Island in the Miss USA pageant. It is currently directed by D&D Productions.
