''The Adventures of Superman'' was a six-part radio drama commissioned by BBC Radio 4 and broadcast in 1988. Synopsis In the late eighties Superman was adapted for BBC Radio 4 in the form of a one off docudrama called '' Superman On Trial''. Due to the huge success of this and its sequel '' Batman: The Lazarus Syndrome'', the BBC commissioned a six-part radio drama ''The Adventures of Superman'' it would run for two series and have both a cassette and CD release. David Chester Gibbons (born 14 April 1949) is an English comics artist, writer and sometimes letterer. He is best known for his collaborations with writer Alan Moore, which include the miniseries ''Watchmen'' and the Superman story "For the Man Who Has Everything". He was an artist for ''2000 AD (comics), 2000 AD'', for which he contributed a large body of work from its first issue in 1977. Early life Gibbons was born on 14 April 1949, at Forest Gate Hospital in London, to Chester, a town planner, and Gladys, a secretary. He began reading comic books at the age of seven. Jenette Kahn
Jenette Kahn (; born May 16, 1947) is an American comic book editor and executive. She joined DC Comics in 1976 as publisher, and five years later was promoted to president. In 1989, she stepped down as publisher and assumed the title of editor-in-chief while retaining the office of president. After 26 years with DC, she left the company in 2002. Early life Jenette Kahn grew up in Boston. Her father was a rabbi. Her brother, Si Kahn, is a singer-songwriter and activist. She was an avid comics fan, a practice supported by her parents, with particular favorites being Batman, Superman, Little Lulu, Uncle Scrooge, and Archie. Jonathan "Pa" Kent
Jonathan Kent and Martha Kent, often referred to as "Pa" and "Ma" Kent (respectively), are fictional characters in American comic books published by DC Comics. They are the adoptive parents of Superman. They live in the rural town of Smallville (comics), Smallville, Kansas. In most versions of Superman's origin story, Jonathan and Martha find Kal-El as an infant after he crash-lands on Earth following the destruction of his home planet, Krypton (comics), Krypton. They adopt him shortly thereafter, renaming him Clark Kent, "Clark" being Martha's maiden name.
